Candida and rash

Hi Everyone ~

I'm looking for some serious but simple (for my mind :-)) help. For

the last 4 years I have been plagued with a rash that starts in the

back of my neck and creeps around to the front. This rash comes and

goes and I can't pin it down to anything in particular. Over the

last 5 years I've been removing the toxic cleaners from my home and

also for body use and foods. Prior to that I'd been on allergy and

asthma meds and shots for 20+ years, and eating and drinking crap.

And yes, unfortunetly many antibiotics over the course of 30 +

years. So fast forward to the last two months...I went 98% raw, I

say 98% because I've been having some of the not so good stuff such

as liquid aminos. So I've been raw for the last two months, have

lost 23 pounds (only have another 10 to go) and otherwise healthy.

Except this darned rash. It has come on with a vengeance. Around my

neck and now behind my armpits and a little in the web of my

fingers. I've been to the doctors just to get a diagnosis but to no

avail, the dermo gave me 3 different kinds of cream that make it

worse. My family doc gave me a cream that takes it away but once I

stop the cream it comes back. I went again today and told her to

scrape it and send it to the lab to see if they could find anything.

She looked at it in the dark with a purple light and said if it was

fungus it would have a glow around it...but no glow???

Well, the only thing I can think of is Candida. Now that I am raw

and fruit is a no-no with candida, what do I do? Or, does someone

have any insight with what this might be? I was thinking detox but

can't imagine my body taking 5 years to do it. Please help as I've

read through the archives and I can't pinpointe anything on this rash.

Thanks so much for listening while I itch :-(

I feel for you! You will be told on this site that adding fruit and

eliminating fats will really benefit your fight against candida. The

problem is, some report improvement from this, some don't. It is worth

a shot, honestly. I think the real problem is (and b/c I did/do this),

associating candida with everything. It is a huge culprit. So are

countless other fungi and parasites and bacteria, etc. Candida is just

the famous one (LOL). I think a lot of us have a bunch of other stuff,

which is why results vary with different diets. It can take a long time

to get rid of some of these, though, so don't give up. I might use

coconut oil topically, too. It is antifungal, antibacterial and

antiviral. :-) Erica

Hi Jackie,

Its not a 'raw' way, but you might like to try colloidal

silver, especially with your history of anti-biotics which

will kill your beneficial bacteria as well and IIUC will

over time make the candida worse.

the other possibility is to try auto-urine therapy. Although

it does in the stomache, this option does not sit well in

the mind. ;)

Great suggestions.

You can use urine as a toner, actually. Dab it on. I heard it is not so

bad, but.... ?! LOL

I do believe in urine therapy. My friend did it. He bathed in it in his

bath water once a week. He has had a deviated septum since birth. Those

baths are the ONLY time his nostrils ever opened up. He healed his

psoriasis with a raw vegan version of the body ecology diet. He rawks!

I have heard it's odorless before, on skin. I admit I'd have to be

pretty sick to drink it, but that's just my prejudice. BUT if I had

acne I would try it. For sure. :-) Thanks for posting this.

there is no smell, honestly. To prove it try this.

next time you pee, wait til midstream and collect a little

in a glass. Choose a small area on your person like the

back of one hand and gently massage some urine into it with

the tip of your finger, dipping in several times and

massaging. It will completely dry within a couple of

minutes especially outdoors or in a flow of fresh air. Then

give it a sniff. You will find it is odorless.

If you repeat this for a week or so and then check the

quality of the skin where the urine has been massaged and

compare it with untreated skin, touch it and feel its

softness, examine it with a magnifying glass, you will be

astonished!

If you use it to heal a wound, it will heal much much

quicker and will not leave a scar.

My VistaPrint Electronic Business CardKneeling Fool :-) and Erica ~

What the heck is IIUC?

I almost tried urine therapy but I started really thinking last night and

the one thing I've been eating ALOT of is pesto mushrooms with braggs

aminos. I know now that the aminos aren't really raw but it didn't hit me

till my niece mentioned it was made with soy. I've had a history of rashes

when I used to consume soy products, then I learned how horrible soy was.

So I've stopped the aminos and used I've also been using coconut oil

topically and the rash is almost totally gone :-)

We shall see if it rears its ugly head again...I'm keeping my fingers

crossed!

Thanks for everyones help on this.

Hi Jackie,

Sorry to hear about your itching! I had a rash that sounds similar

to what you describe. It moved around to various places on my body

and lasted for 3 years. I went to 4 doctors and got 4 diagnoses -

none of which really made much sense. I tried everything I could

come up with including the candida diet, antifungal medication, tea

tree oil, swimming in the ocean, sun, no sun.... It finally just

went away. Mine showed up after I changed my diet to a more raw,

fresh foods diet and eliminated the soy. My latest theory is that it

was detox from all the years of intense soy ingestion. But I don't

really know for sure. I'm just so relieved to no longer be awakened

in the middle of the night by that intense itch!

could your rash be a response to stopping the medications you were

on? some of those allergy meds work to suppress the body's

inflamatory responses. Just a thought.

Hang in there! hope you stop itching soon.

And be sure your control includes another MASSAGED area

of the skin, to determine whether that it really is the

urine or the massage (or a combination) that created a

softer skin patch.

I tried urine on my 3 year rash. It made it way more itchy...

Coconut oil and/or I have heard raw honey helps stuff like this. It's

not exactly ideal, as a bee product and all -- not quite vegan and less

environmental, etc, most likely --- but it's possible. Itching

stinks!!!! Erica

This year, I have overcome rashes and various other skin problems

with 80-10-10 raw vegan.

From approximately 1998 until late 2006, I had a mysterious and

annoying rash on my chest. It was concentrated in the very center of

my chest. During those years, my food habits were vegan, but not a

healthy vegan: high fat, high cooked food, tons os soy, beans,

grains, high caffeine, breads, spices, etc.

Dermatologists prescribed medicine, but I never tried any. I did try

coconut oil, which didn't seem to solve it.

Then I began transitioning to raw in late 2006, gradually increasing

my percentage of raw food each month. During this transition period,

ironically, I developed another type of rash - less acute, spread

along my sides along my midsection.

I was perplexed that transitioning to raw food (and losing 30

pounds!) would result in additional problems, but felt assuaged that

other posters reported detox effects associated with improving their

diets.

Sure enough, within a month of completing my transition to a low fat,

raw food diet, both the new and the longstanding rash dissappeared,

and have not reappeared since. So too dissappeared a cyst that had

been annoying me for 2 years - it just vanished into the night! I've

noticed other improvements as well, such as reversing

hypothyroidism. I no longer get tired so easily - my energy level is

significantly greater, now.

So, if you're like me, staying patiently with low fat raw foods might

ultimately lead to solving your rash problem, and many other

problems, too!
