Rethinking & Clarifying the B12 Issue (Dr. Vivian V. Vetrano) + B12 Test; Fallacy of Eating for Individual Nutrients

Hi Mark,

By " ALL B12 " I assume you mean " all B12 supplements " , yes?

Just a reminder that I'm just passing along an article. I have also always

been under the impression that the products all contain cyanide. However,

this article was written several years ago, and I don't routinely check on

this because the problem is uncommon and easily remedied when it does occur.

it's possible that some manufacturer has figured out how to produce the

" right " compound. It's ALSO possible that they got some sort of labeling

exemption ... this I don't know, but it does happen.

In any event, if anyone is really concerned about this whole thing for any

reason, just take a B12 supplement for a week. If you don't notice any

change (highly likely), then you didn't need it in the first place. Why?

Because IF there is some B12 " deficiency " , even if caused by malabsorption,

then adding absorbable B12 to the system produces a noticeable effect very

quickly, in a matter of days at most.

This whole conversation has really become a mountain where it should be a

mole hill, so to speak. People tend to get all excited about this or that,

because they hear about it for the first time and their eyes spring wide

open. Examples include B12, lycopene, etc. But in reality, if we establish

for ourselves an excellent diet in terms of macronutrients, then in almost

every case, the micronutrients follow. In addition, there are countless

thousands (millions??) of known and unknown micronutrients. To focus all

this attention on any one of them means, inherently, that we are paying

virtually no attention to all the rest.

We cannot effectively eat for individual nutrients. We can only eat a

comprehensively healthful diet. Even with soil depletion, that is

sufficient. What most people don't realize is that, when we eat FRUIT, we

protect ourselves at least to some extent from the soil problems, because

the trees are much more deeply rooted in the soil than are all the annual

crops. We are MUCH better off on a program of fruits and greens, today more

than ever!!!

Best,

Elchanan

My B-12 says methylcobalamin on it and you are saying that ALL B-12 is

cyanocobalamin ?

Most people are pretty familiar with B12 deficiency, except for total

newbies. I didn't see anybody over-reacting, though. It's important to

note that other esteemed researchers and raw educators suggest limiting

fruit. That is just one raw food theory. Peace, Erica
