Guest guest
Hi Joe, I am happy to talk with you about some of these things, if you wish, but honestly, we're beyond the constructive use of email at this point. If you wish, just write to me privately at Elchanan, and I'll gladly chat with you for awhile about these things (or whatever else may be coming up during your fast). Okay? Then you can post back in the group at your pleasure. Best, Elchanan _____ rawfood [rawfood ] On Behalf Of Joe Postma Friday, October 19, 2007 10:52 AM rawfood [Raw Food] Re: My Fast (Joe Postma) Thanks Elchanan Yes, I need to go home and rest. I will do that. Too late to cancel the appt, but I will just go for the checkup and let the dentist check me out, and not get anything done yet. I have heard of the constructive boredom thing before, but nothing in detail. Please elaborate if you wish, I'd love to hear about it I always just spontaneously start crying when I get deep enough into the fast. It just happened a few minutes ago. I need to go home and let it all out. Any ideas there? Old emotions coming out or something? It's fascinating, and I love it and love the experience, and love how close it makes me feel to my body. I've never loved my physical body the way I have since I started fasting...something about it really makes me connect my mental and physical parts. Oh, if you had something more to say about the dentist visit and cavities, please do, I would love to hear it You don't think the distilled water would have weakened my teeth though? Thanks a lot, please elaborate on anything you wish or have time to, I am a hungry mind Joe
Guest guest
Today is the 3rd day and I have absolutely zero desire for food. In my previous fasts it has not been this easy, and the transition to ketosis usually took 2 or 3 days...this time it started within 24 hours. One question that could be answered easily enough here: how should I break the fast? In the past 4 fasts I have done: the first time I broke with fruit, melons actually for a day or two. The second time I broke with juice - fresh of course from my juicer. Though this gave me amazing energy and an amazing feeling, it didn't cause a good bowel movement and I ended up being clogged and having poor movements until my next fast 6 months later. The 3rd and 4th times, I broke with stewed tomatoes, as recommended by Paul Bragg. He seems to know what he is talking about since he fasts so much, but I am wondering about the whole cooked tomatoes thing - doesn't really fit in with the raw idea. However, I found breaking this way extremely enjoyable and it gave very good movements afterwards. It was really good and the lightly stewed fresh tomatoes taste amazing after being heated. This time, I was thinking perhaps grapes and cucumber, as I read that these will induce a strong peristaltic wave through the digestive system. What does anyone (Elchanan and anyone else) here think? Guest guest
No I just have water, and hardly feel much of a thirst for it at that, while fasting. I've tried the juice fast before and didn't like it...my hunger never went way and my body didn't properly enter ketosis. So I prefer the pure fast, the water fast. rawfood , Jenny <jbilend wrote: > > When you are fasting do you drink juices?

This crying is also a physical cleansing process and may be psychological too. It is something that I went through for quite a few months on my 'journey' and was a softening of a hard hard outer shell. We can either carry it on with a mental story about the sufferer (me) or just 'sit back and watch the show', and LEARN. All extreme experience is an excellent opportunity to see closer the actual truth about who I Am. That you are not the one crying, but the observer of this event. All suffering is an opportunity to see this. and I agree, there is true delight in [observing] just letting it flow! a blessing, a gift even. -- the kneeling fool
