Raw diet apparently lessens build-up in ears

For those of you raw fooders who may occasionally use ear candles to clean out

your ears:

Have you noticed the follwoing? I have found that when I have been eating raw

for a few months the amount of material that comes out of my ears during a

" candling " session is considerably less than when I have been eating a more

" sludgey " diet?

Best health to all,

I candled my ears, and didn't see too much there, just a fine dust.

My brother, who eats SAD, candled his ears, and when we opened the

candles up, there was a whole LOT of semi-liquid waxy stuff in the

candles. Very gross. He drinks a lot of milk. And I can add

another reason to my list why I will never touch the stuff again.

Yes Nicole...My sister & family eat the SAD and when her kids were little she

had to run them to the ear (ENT) Dr. for fairly regular clean-outs. Once she

started using ear candles on the kids the trips to the ear Dr. ended...Far

better though, as you point out to avoid the sludge to begin with.

Try burning the candle without putting it in your eat at all. You'll

notice the gunk still builds up on the candle.

True, but what is interesting is that when I used to sometimes " candle " the ears

of my neice and nephews the amount of " gunk " in the candles would vary from

child to child. Also, I tend to have somewhat impaired hearing in my right ear

and for some reason when I candle my ears the candle I use on my right ear

always has more gunk in it afterwards.

So, yes, some of what is in the candle after burning is from the candle itself

but some of it is also from the ear...

Tim

ps, I candled my ears a couple days ago and yesterday I had to turn the volume

down on my computer/TV headset by about a third; with my cleaner ears it was too

loud...

It makes sense to me. The SAD diet is acidic, and as anyone who's

ever made their own cheese knows if you add acid to dairy , you get

stuff that looks like what came out of my bro's ears. Curdy nasty

gunk.

While I'm sure you will be rudely and gratuitously mocked for

volunteering information that a few find uncomfortable, I am not

surprised by this at all. Thanks for sharing, and for being one of the

few not intimidated into silence on this entire group----guilty only of

having a " differing opinion " . Erica

The safest and most effective cleaner for the ears is one's

own urine. It used to be used extensively by our

grandparents and beyond.

True confessions here... Years ago, I developed a ringing in my ears upon

returning from cannery work in Alaska. Every time some one closed a door,

I'd hear distortion crunching in my ear. After about a year of trying oils,

drops, and even ear candles, I went to a ...shhhh...(whispers)a doctor

....SHHHHH! An ear, nose, throat doctor, that is. He got out a long tool I

was better off not noticing and proceeded to pull out a chunk of resin too

big and hard to EVER come out any other way (I may be wrong about that). It

was a painful procedure, but WORTH IT. I think this is a situation where

going to a doctor to get the ears checked out is useful. Prevention is

better, but sometimes immediate relief (ok, a year isn't exactly immediate)

is worth its weight in gold. The chunk that came out of my ear looked good

for setting in a big ring like amber. It probably had a bug in it to boot!

Any wax an ear candle can get out of the ear can be extracted through other

means. They are expensive and completely unnecessary, imo. And, I'm not

convinced they work in the slightest. Different candles will show different

amounts of residue...candle wax residue.

OMG! LOL! This was really funny. I won't tell anyone....

" They are expensive and completely unnecessary, imo.

Whether people use them or not, they really are very cheap, actually. "

But like I mentioned, my friend had a medical issue caused by one!
