Come-on Elch of course She's red the book. And I wouldn't even call

them personal attacks, she's just pointing things out. And why do you

consider your knowledge of science so " high and mighty " and the only

correct interpretation?

I think you should give us a list of ALL YOUR academic degrees, papers

published and in what journals (links would be nice), research

projects completed and ongoing, etc. It seems you are a bit of a

polymath, so I expect to see at least one thing from every major field

of science. Maybe you are an absolute genius!?

But if all you've done is read popular to obscure books on a range of

subjects, you're only an enthusiastic layman. Reading popular to

obscure literature, even working through entire textbooks, does not

give you the intimate knowledge of a field that working IN the field

can give you. Unless you are a super genius - but there are currently

no known people like this in the world.

" you are the blind attempting to lead the blind. "

Are you kidding me? Seriously! She's incorporated raw food into her

diet and life, runs a business making delicious raw recipes and

spreading the knowledge of raw, and shares the experience and guides

others in their transition to raw.

Could you BE any MORE insulting? Seriously, Elch, this is retarded.

As in mentally deficient.

Were you 100% raw from birth? If so, good for you, but the rest of us

weren't. It is unfortunate you can not understand the emotional

processes of transitioning to raw.

" Erica has (obviously) never read Doug's book, probably hasn't

listened to Doug talk much, either "

Are YOU even reading her posts Elch?? I mean come on, she has had

some extremely lengthy ones on this issue. She is VERY well

acquainted with NH and 8/1/1. I dare say even more than you! - she

USES the knowledge with balance and composure, instead of berating

everytone with " This is the right way to do it because I say so please

listen to me or else I will quietly insult you " .

" I do this, in the hope that some readers here ... perhaps YOU ...

will begin to realize what wonderful opportunities lie before them if

they shift some beliefs and paradigms. "

The fact that any of us here means we are already there, Elch. But

thanks for spelling it out.

" But I speak now of reaching for the stars, of choosing not only to

become " healthy " , but to go beyond, to become the very best we can be.

Only a few programs or approaches have the capacity to take us there. "

If your PERSONAL idea of how to eat will do this, then what the heck

are you doing on this forum? I would think you would have a much

higher calling than sitting in front of a computer bickering about how

to interpret 8/1/1 and such. Think of the Bhudda. Are you saying

you are more spiritual and connected than he is? Do you think the

Bhudda would be wasting his time here? I highly doubt it. He's old

and decrepit looking and likely does NOT follow 8/1/1 or even NH. I

am not about to say that because I am raw I am more spiritual than he

is. But let us know if you think you are.

Wow, Joe! Thank you SO MUCH for your post. One thing I'm proud of is

that I'm open to possibility and so much more flexible. When people

come to you with cancer and/or a busy lifestyle, etc, you have to

have options, etc. I think when you only preach your selfish agenda

and not present them with all of their range of options (many of

course bearing a similar diet/lifestyle foundation), you are no

better than the western medical model, operating out of ego alone!

Most go through a similar phase to what Elch appears to be stuck in,

whether new to a religion or animal rights, etc, and they proceed to

see the world through a strict and judgemental " sinners/non-sinners "

lens. Then they outgrow this initial phase and mature into a place

where they do not have to force only one belief on everybody, with a

sick disdain for all who do not see things their way. The last

natural health guru I met who had such fervor and militant-yet-HIGHLY

educated sounding prose and of course impromptu lectures (on raw

foods, christ-love, etc) now has a warrant out for his arrest for

abusing a woman with MS in a wheelchair that he was living with

and " coaching " ..... Thanks again. I'd like to point out that I learn

a lot from Elchanan, too. Peace, Erica

> I meant Dalai-Lama, not " the Buddha " . I wish you could edit posts.

They are both wonderful! It reminds me of a story. The 2 guys who wrote

the " Left Behind " series, who are richer than hell as a result of

spreading such fear and damnation, see a man in the hotel lobby who is

wearing wierd middle-eastern looking robes. Obviously, they felt the

need to " save " him, and approached him with how they could help him

with the knowledge of " Christ " . Of course this man was the Dalai Lama,

who gracefully and lovingly thanked them for their concern for his

soul....

Wow, is it a true story?

Though the Left Behind fellows may have made money on their books and

movies, (that is what popular books and movies do. Generate funds and

all) and might have even scared a few folks in the process.(which is

likely what the viewers was wanting when they watched the movies. A

good scare or something to wonder about) I doubt they have scared

anyone as much as Stephen King or whoever done the Exorcist book and

movie.

I am thinking after that Exorcist movie that the use and sell of Ouja

boards surely dropped. (gives me the heebie jeebies just thinking of

that movie)lol
