Hi all,

Since you're on the topic of new energy, I thought I'd chime in and

say hi. I've been lurking for a while and have to admit that I've

been turned off by the back and forth bickering. I was about to

, then a few new people popped up, so I thought I'd stick

it out and see what's next.

After 11 years of being a fairly healthy vegan (I ate way too much

tofu and gluten products), I decided to try the raw lifestyle about

three months ago. Wow, it's been incredible! I've lost weight, my

skin completely cleared up (I've had acne problems since I was a

teenager), my digestive system has improved, and my energy level is

on fire. For the first two months, I spent hours in the kitchen

preparing all sorts of delicious meals and desserts. I've simplified

since then, but still enjoy preparing elaborate meals from time to

time. I'm looking forward to making holiday dishes. This from a woman

who never enjoyed cooking.

I live in San Francisco, so the vegan lifestyle isn't a big deal. The

raw lifestyle is a different issue. Speaking from personal

experience, the best way to spread the message is to focus on the

positives: energy, spiritual connections, clear skin, etc... So far,

so good...

I look forward to sharing, supporting, and learning.

Peace,

Rose

HI Rose,

Welcome to the group. I joined back in the spring but wasnt very active at

the time; because believe it or not, the bickering was worse--

I think my experience is a bit different from yours because I have yet to

have anything resembling clear skin. I'm 28 and have had acne since I was 8.

Everything else (almost) healthwise in my life has improved though. I still

have problems with insane hunger but hopefully ill get my " formula " correct

one day.

I'm also in the Bay Area (Berkeley) and though its very easy to stay raw

with the regular all organic farmers markets 3+ days a week, its hard in

other ways with the temptation to eat at all of the world class restaurants

here. I havent " cheated " since I went raw in April, but it can be

isolating.
