Guest guest
Hi, I am new to the group and relatively new to raw food eating. What exactly is 80/10/10? Thanks, Susanne
Guest guest
Hi Susanne, Welcome to the group. The 80/10/10 Diet by Dr Douglas N Graham suggests getting at least 80% of your daily calories from carbs, less than 10% from protein, and less than 10% from fat (in the form of raw fruits, veggie fruits, tender greens, and limited nuts/seeds). For more information, go to www.foodnsport.com. It's an excellent way to go raw ) ~Sarah susanneca799 <susanne wrote: Hi, I am new to the group and relatively new to raw food eating. We embrace the Hippocrates Diet, a live vegan diet, but observe that 8/1/1 does not work well for everyone. Erica
Guest guest
This whole supplementation versus diet issues comes down to this: with eating just whole fresh living foods, do you feel great with your food choices without the addition of supplementation? On many of the raw diets out there, the answer is " No, absolutely not " . This is because those raw diets don't give the body everything it needs to heal itself and to function well. But with the addition of supplementation, all the body's needs are met. On the 80-10-10 diet, one quickly finds that they are feeling great, and that there is no need for supplementation. I've been eating all raw and 80-10-10 for over 5 years now, and I feel great without supplementation. I've helped people who were having difficulty on the Cousens or the Hippocrates diet, who absolutely knew they couldn't eat fruit because they had candida, to once again eat fruit. These people now eat fruit as the main source of calories and they feel great.
