Guest guest
I am still trying to figure out what the right diet is for ME. For this whole week I have really been trying to eat A LOT less meat and A LOT more raw food. It just is not going well. When I was eating moderate amount of meat and A LOT of raw vegetables, that went great. I just feel like I am not getting ehough protein. Suddenly I am having a return of all my old symptoms that had completely cleared on the low carb, high protein diet like anxiety, depression, mood swings, feeling really hyper, etc. My blood sugar has to be spiking and dropping off the charts. I have been eating sprouts and greens which supposedly have protein, but I do not think that they have enough. None of this stuff happens when I eat meat or fish at each meal even in small amounts. Any suggestions on what I should do would be greatly appreciated. For fruits I have only been eating strawberries and raspberries which are low in sugar so that can't be causing it. All of the juicing has been with low sugar greens and other vegetables. Is there something I can do to stop these symptoms or could this maybe not be the right path for me? Thanks, Susanne
Guest guest
Hi Susanne and Group! I LOVE algae! I love spirulina, chlorella, and most especially AFA! Algae is super high in protein! AFA liquid frozen algae is great because it is especially good for the brain and makes me happy! I also adore fresh bee pollen, which is a high protein source! Enjoy your personal raw adventure! Blissings! Shawna http://www.myspace.com/rawshawna CAUTION: I have a link on my site to purchase AFA... I know this group is extremely sensitive to that type of thing, so please do not use my link to purchase anything... just be " myfriend " I love you

Guest guest
Hi Shawna, Are you using E3 Live's AFA? If so, can you share your experience? I've been using the flakes. Guest guest
What do you do with the spirulina, algae, and bee pollen? Can you put it in smoothies? I spent the afternoon yesterday in the Napa Valley at a spa with a friend who is a long time off and on again raw foodist. I told her of my protein dilema and she said her husband and her had the same problem and they eat raw meat! To me that is just horrible and unimaginable so I hope your suggestions work. Guest guest
Not Shawna here, but personally, I enjoy the flavor and mouthfeel of spirulina itself and so make no attempts at covering the taste. I just take a spoonful and dip it in water or juice to wet it, then enjoy the blob. Regarding raw meat, I agree; revolting! -Erin http://www.zenpawn.com/vegblog - susanneca799 rawfood Sunday, October 28, 2007 4:12 PM [Raw Food] Re:How do I get enough protein? I like it too. And there is no denying the tremendous benefits you feel. Also, raw meat = parasites and a whole host (no pun intended) of other bad things. Ew. Guest guest
Hi Susanne, i put powdered chlorella in smoothies sometimes & sometimes spirulina. it's aonce in awhile thing. i think you asked about protein? Nuts & seeds perhpas they would help? As for meat-i have had that raw but decided that the only way I would do that is if I raised & slaughtered it myself so I knew exactly what went into that. It's not something I need.- Also make sure you eat enough Em rawfood , " susanneca799 " <susanne wrote: > > What do you do with the spirulina, algae, and bee pollen? What would ever make you feel you are protein-deficient? It really has never been documented in the U.S. Even fruit contains plenty of protein. If you are that concerned, pick up some RAW POWER - it's hemp protein, maca and goji, I believe. A powdered supplement. But honestly, what would constitute your " protein dilemma " ? Most suffer from too much of the wrong kinds, and the raw meat easters would fall into that category. Erica
Guest guest
I have been eating raw fish/beef in small amounts for years and never once gotten sick. Raw does not automatically mean raw vegan. Considering how mouth wateringly yummy sashimi is and how many healthy cultures eat raw meats.I would not deprive myself by being a vegan.
