Guest guest
11/4/07 Hello all! DATES HARVEST SEASON HAS ARRIVED! This may be a grand time to experiment with getting some whole, fresh, ripe, raw, organic dates to see how you enjoy using them as part of a " sweet fruit " base. I got my newest batch on Wednesday, and I was, once again, thrilled! (Mine came from Jaime, at the Date People –please see files for source/ordering information.) I recommend Jaime and the Date People highly: the food, no longer “certified” as organic, is actually BETTER than organic. The Date People really understand what they are doing and take care of their customers. Dates are always carefully packed, and have always arrived in grand condition for me (and I live about as far away from them as you can get in the continental united states – Florida) At the moment, dates remain one of my favorites foods, and I really enjoy when they come back into season. If you've never had a fresh date, or aren't sure about how to begin, the Date People make it quite easy – they offer " sampler " packs....and a suggestion is that if you're going to do this, order some Medjool dates: they are marvelous - good size, moist, chewy, sweet..... These dates could replace that candy commercial - these really do melt in your mouth, not in your hand! Such grand fun! Ask them to mix the box so you can sample different ones. This is an updated post from RawFood (originally post #16721, 5/2/05) for those who might be interested in an answer to the question “If I buy a larger quantity of dates, how do I store them? " To answer that question, I’ve created a PDF, including pictures describing just how to do that. File is located here: HYPERLINK " http://snipurl.com/date_storage " http://snipurl.com/date_storage. Suggestion: order some dates: you and your body may just be glad you did! Whomever you order from please let them know that you heard about it here! (I/we get nothing from that, and I just think it's nice to let them know) If you enjoy this type of educational material, please visit us. Guest guest
I recently received my batch of dates for the year as well. Four pounds of medjool and two pounds of tabarzal (a new variety to me). Here are some pics of my order from last year containing medjhool, deglet noor, and halawi, with a link to where I bought them (organically grown and unprocessed): http://www.zenpawn.com/vegblog/2007/04/11/dates/ I'll probably blog about the tabarzal in a few days too. It is a yummy time of year. -Erin http://www.rawdonelight.com - " Bob Farrell " <BobFarrell " Bob Farrell " <BobFarrell Sunday, November 04, 2007 7:15 PM [Raw Food] Date Storage - Date Harvest Season Has Arrived 11/4/07 Hello all!
