Guest guest
From the page identified by your link, Erin: ______ Ear wax, sticky stuff that it is, traps anything foreign that flies, crawls, or is blown into the ear canals. Dirt, tiny bits of plant material, small insects, bacteria, and so forth are immobilized by wax. Think of wax as the sticky stuff on a No Pest Strip. The primary purpose of ear wax is to protect your ear canal and ear drum from such foreign materials. <http://www.doctorhoffman.com/paper-04.jpg> ______ The medical profession takes a fractional approach to almost everything. I take a holistic approach. The foregoing description of the function of ear wax matches any reasonable discussion of any form of mucus. The human body produces mucus in various forms and viscosities. In all cases, the purpose is the same: to envelope foreign matter so that the foreign matter does not come into contact with the body's own tissues/organs. The mucus also doubles as a medium in which the foreign matter is removed from the body (elimination). No difference, functionally speaking, among ear wax, nasal mucus, intestinal mucus, and so forth ... except in the eyes of fractional thinkers. Of course, they constitute a clear majority ... another example of the principle that all majority opinions are wrong. Guest guest
Well, he didn't say anything about mucus, one way or the other... So, I don't see how he's exhibited any " fractional " thinking here in describing ear wax and its purpose. Your criticism strikes me as rather picayune. -Erin http://www.zenpawn.com/vegblog - Elchanan rawfood Monday, November 05, 2007 9:54 PM [Raw Food] Mucus: Ear Wax (WAS: Ear Candles) From the page identified by your link, Erin: ______ Ear wax, sticky stuff that it is, traps anything foreign that flies, crawls, or is blown into the ear canals. Guest guest
Yes, Erin, he missed the point entirely ... and so have you. _____ rawfood [rawfood ] On Behalf Of Erin Monday, November 05, 2007 7:13 PM rawfood Re: [Raw Food] Mucus: Ear Wax (WAS: Ear Candles) Well, he didn't say anything about mucus, one way or the other... Guest guest
Let's let Carol, from whom the original question originated, be the judge of who's missed what. Frankly, it seems to me you were jumping at another chance to rail against doctors where there was nothing wrong about what he said, nor given the context, in anything he left out. And this, outside of whether your criticism is even accurate. It matters not. There are plenty of real cases of M.D. " fractional " thinking that you needn't have attempted to make one out of this. Just be patient, they'll come along and you can be first in line to pounce. -Erin http://www.zenpawn.com/vegblog - Elchanan rawfood Wednesday, November 07, 2007 2:49 AM RE: [Raw Food] Mucus: Ear Wax (WAS: Ear Candles) Yes, Erin, he missed the point entirely ... and so have you. _____ rawfood [rawfood ] On Behalf Of Erin Monday, November 05, 2007 7:13 PM rawfood Re: [Raw Food] Mucus: Ear Wax (WAS: Ear Candles) Well, he didn't say anything about mucus, one way or the other...
