I did bring vegan blueberry muffins to a family breakfast

It's really surprising how some people can't bring themselve to try new foods. It's like anything out of the ordinary is suspect.

No, you see around here vegetarian (hippy) = tofu = lesbian. Seriously! It took me ages to try tofu, and then I had it as takeaway Thai, because I knew I would do it wrong, and not like it. Ben doesn't like the Thai shop now, as I always spend too much there on take Away nights! LOL

I had a vegan birthday cake made for my party. Choc, with layers of mock cream and raspberries. I had someone say no, thank you, I am lactose intolerant. Ben quickly informed them that it was vegan, and I think he eventually got it thought that they could have it if I can! I am milk allergic too. lol

I also had several people turn their noses up at it, and not even try it. Ben's sister did it the next day (Ben's mum suggested tea and cake at morning tea time) while I was in the room - screwed up her face and shook her head viciciously. It really hurt my feelings, but I don't think she realised that. I didn't hold it against her, but wonder what she would think if I did the same to her?

Tolerance is my middle name.... kinda has to be... I only know of one other vegan in the area - I'm not alone!
