Guest guest
I agree. All it took for me to go back veggie was to see a PBS special on cultivating pearls. You never know where the connection will come from. but..hopefully, maybe a few people will go snap out of it and make a connection!
Guest guest
I saw on the telly last night about this asian chicken virus, which has spread to humans. Apparently loads of chickens are being killed to try to control it. I was at my boyfriends house at the time and his old man had just finished eating some chicken. Boyfriend said to old man, " hey look dad, thats what your eating! " The telly showed some chicken factories, the poor birds very cooped up. Obviously trying to gave a bit of a look round by stretching their necks out of the cages. I wonder if anyone here in UK will l associate that with the chickens they eat, or if they still believe their chickens have a happy life pecking grain on the picturesque farmyard? Guest guest
Some will, some won't - most don't care, unfortunately. You never know where the connection will come from. > I didn't think I felt that way about pearls, but recently I travelled to visit my elderly mother and she was wearing her three-strand cultured pearl necklance, about which I had forgotten. Perhaps because she hadn't worn them in a while (?) or perhaps from a newly acquired habit, she sat selfconsciously stroking them throughout the afternoon. And me? Who never thinks much about them one way or another (I have some at the bottom of my safe deposit box in various pieces of jewelry)? I sat there 'seeing' live oysters frantically trying to accommodate themselves to the intrusive painful chunk of introduced foreign object and then murdered for it.
