Guest guest
Hi. I just read in one of the digests about the benefits of green tea re the prostate. It stated a caveat about green tea: that you shouldn't drink green/black tea while eating as it inhibits the absorption of iron. Does anyone know how soon after eating you can drink tea? I like to have tea after lunch at work and wondered how long I should wait. Thanks, Doug
Guest guest
Hi Doug I think it's best to wait at least an hour, preferably two! It's very difficult fitting these 'what's bests' into working life though. Maybe you could drink the tea at lunchtime as normal at work, but make sure you get plenty of iron at breakfast and for the evening meal Jo > Hi. Guest guest
Simon I think half an hour between eating and drinking is only so that the stomach acid has time to do it's work. To be able to absorb the iron from food, I think you need longer Jo > Hi I have heard that you shouldn't eat and drink at the same time..about > half an hour between the two>
