The Meat Eaters Miserable Life

Hi Guys,

It is not up to us to judge meat eaters. They reap enough punishment as it is, with more to follow after death. Meat eaters are more often than not unhappy people. They have problems with their relationships and with their health. I was a meat eater for 60 years myself, and I was not an exception. In 1990 I became disabled, and I know it was because of my guilt over eating my animal brothers/sisters. I knew better, but could not stop. I valued the taste of meat more than I valued the welfare of God's animal children. The irony is that I was active in various animal welfare organizations. What a hypocrite I was ! Thank God those days are behind me. Eating meat has an unfortunate side effect on the human Soul. Each person's conscience protests against eating meat, or using products connected to cruel animal experiments. The conscience knows it's wrong to hurt the animals. But people have free will and can over-ride the judgments of their

conscience. By relegating it to such a deep level that they no longer are guided by it in any matter at all. As a result we have child abusers, thieves, murderers, lovers of pornography and the vulgar, unmarried parents, unfaithful husbands/wives , disrespectful, out of control children, Men like Saddam and Hitler who commit the most horrible of crimes against humanity without the slightest twinge from their conscience. Anyone who eats meat or exploits and hurts God's animal children is on the fast lane to destruction. I speak from experience. I was one of them. Somehow I had not completely destroyed my conscience. My conscience finally got through to me and changed my nature so much that there is no way I will ever be able to eat or use animal products again. In a way it might be good that I took so long before seeing the Light. My example shows that it is never too late to do what is right. I regret deeply my former ways; I am going to use the rest of my life as an advocate

for animal rights. I support PETA, the Animal Liberation Front, Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, ASPCA, and several others. I hope to make a positive difference before I die. I believe that there is a special place in hell reserved for those who hurt God's children, both human and animal. I thank God that I lived long enough to change my ways and avoid eternity in that part of hell, which I so richly deserved. I can only regret my days as a meat eater, the past cannot be changed. But on the other hand, I have the rest of my live to do what's right. I can say with certainty that there is nothing better than to live under the guidence of a clear conscience. As a Christian I have noticed that members of my congregation who ate meet tended to be overly aggressive and overly competitive. We do not have to defend our vegan life style with arguments or persuations, We can lead by example and my testifying to the benifits we enjoy from our positive life style.

Hi Jim

> It is not up to us to judge meat eaters. They reap enough punishment as it is, with more to follow after death.

That's assuming that your beliefs are correct. As has already been said by several people, no-one actually knows what happens after death, because no-one has had the experience. I personally find the relatively recent concept of "eternal damnation", which really didn't exist before about 1800 years ago, to be somewhat strange, particularly when even the name Hel(l) was grabbed from a far more ancient Greek concept which didn't encompass eternal damnation at all.

I'm pretty sure that this goes across the board of human society, and don't see that diet has an awful lot to do with it.

Funnily enough, although we come from virtually opposite ends of the spiritual spectrum, here we do agree - IMHO it is the seperation from our conscience and "true will" which causes most of the problems in the world. Funnily enough, although I don't follow the doctrine, this is one of the central tenets of LeVay style Satanism!

> unmarried parents,

I agree with most of your points about what is wrong, but for many people, "marriage" is simply a method of church and state to control their lives. I personally see no value in state or church sanctioned marriage, except for those who follow the particular religion under which they are married. I know many people who have opted not to go for a lifestyle controlled by church or state, who are far more committed to their relationships than many of those who think that signing a bit of paper will somehow make everything in their relationship right!

I agree completely. There are very few of us (if any) who are life-long vegans. Personally, I found that becoming vegetarian (and then vegan) had a very powerful effect on my life, in particular in terms of my spiritual outlook. Of course, this is not the same for everyone, but I understand where you are coming from.

If meat eaters are “more

often than not unhappy people” surely that goes for most of the western

world? I was a meat eater for 30 odd years and

can honestly say that I feel no happier as a vegan. Don’t thin ,y

moods have changed at all. Been animal-free for 18 years now so if it was gonna happen it

would’ve happened by now. I never felt any guilt as an animal eater

– as soon as I learned the truth, I changed to stop eating them. At least, that’s what I

remember...

Same here Viv. We were meateaters for 46 years and had a wonderful relationship - as we still do. Giving up meat has made no difference to that. There are plenty of vegans with unhappy relationships, just as there are meat-eaters.
