After hearing Homer Simpson mention peanut butter and jam sandwiches, we thought we would try them - and they are delicious! We thought it unlikely that our American friends mixed two such different foodstuffs.

Hi Cath,

Guava Jelly?! How the other half live eh? I wouldnt know a Gauva if it leapt up

and bit my bum!, let alone know how to make it produce jelly!

Anyone know of other combinations for the yank sandwich? I think a lot of our

friends the wrong side of the Atlantic use Grape Jelly, again not something you

find in a small village in Wales.... Should the peanut butter be crunchy or

smooth?...bread be wholegrain, multigrain...do you spread marge on it first ( No

reference to the subject title ).

Time for bed said Zebedee.

The Valley vegan....

the other version is peanut butter and jelly sandwiches......i used to have

guava jelly in them......

hows the fight over st davids wood going?? even my usually apolitical rellies in the area have clocked the issue and are against chopping down the wood, though they wouldnt protest etc eastenders keeping them glued.......

Hi Peter

Some interesting questions there - I shall look forward to the answers from

the experts. I have used crunchy peanut butter with blueberry jam (which I

presume is the same as jelly), and it was delicious.
