Guest guest
Heartwork is right, but don't forget, when praying you also have to mean it. What I mean to say, is that if you put more energy into your prayer, it is more likely to receive attention and be answered. Not always in the way you may have expected it to be answered, but all prayers are answered, you must be willing to accept the outcome, be open to receiving it in whatever manner it comes. Now may not be the best time for it to be manifested, so you need patience and don't dwell on it too much. If someone else is involved in your prayer, ask that it be answered in accordance with the will of that person, otherwise you are taking their will away, which we all have, a huge mistake many do unknowingly, commonly through ignorance. And ask that it be for the highest good of all. Karma also comes into it, it exists I know it does. Past lives karma too. This is what I know to be true for me. You have to believe that it isso. I do find though that often when you pray/work on healing/do spells forpeople very close to you, you don't get far because there is more fear forthem than there is belief in the power you can have.Jo Find local movie times and trailers on Movies. This is what I know to be true for me. Something that I always find personally "uncomfortable" about the idea of Karma is that, in the way most people understand the word, it is mutually exclusive with the concept of free-will. Personally, I believe in free-will rather than pre-destination :-) BB Peter

Guest guest
I do had prays answered, that I have been so much more conscious of, than when I have just wanted sometime to be. Looking out externally/opening up to that which (at least allows me to exist) answers questions. The brain is a tranmitting and receiving muscle that I believe can connect with a central force that is behind/within this existence...that existences being God/Good. - dragonstarsong Sunday, April 18, 2004 7:41 AM Re: Power of Intent/Prayer Heartwork is right, but don't forget, when praying you also have to mean it. Guest guest
H Simon I agree with what you say, although to me the central force is an energy and not a God as such. When discussing magick with a friend once they described it like the water running from a tap and filling a bath. That water can be used for good (cleaning and relaxing someone) or bad (drowning a person). The water just is, it is the use that is either good or bad. Guest guest
Some people call upon various gods/godesses. Others believe in the power of the intent itself - and some mind-power. I personally do not call upon a god/goddess, except when working in a group, when usually the Goddess is invoked, and sometimes a God (Herne, Cernunnos etc depending who seems most suited to the task). Lets just hope we have a clear definition of what is good and bad...thats the difficult part. So do you believe good and bad are objective forces? Guest guest
HI Simon I don't believe in polytheism any more than I believe in monotheism. You will have to ask a polytheist about the pecking order as I am afraid I don't know. I believe in spirit and general energy, and would probably call myself an animist.
