yeast vegan?

hello everyone. I am new to in general and was just

wondering if possibly someone could answer my question.

I am not at home with access to my reference books so I turned here,

in hopes of getting an answer.

Toady i was tipped off that yeast is NOT vegan. Can anyone explain

this to me?

Yeast is a Fungus, and hence neither Animal nor Plant. It is vegan.

ok, I am reassured now.

It was just so out of the ordinaty that I didnt quite know how to

react to the statement. uh duh uh duh

I was in whole foods when this happened, and im not sure i will

listen to random people giving out advice, whole foods or not.

thank you, i no longer feel like im falling off the planet...(for now)

Germs are living organisms... but I'm not about to stop breathing so I don't

inhale any :-)
