Guest guest
Atul I enjoyed this very much. My dog is veg, too for the most part. She eats baked potatos, steamed tofu, refried beans, steamed vegetables, cheese and soy cheese, yogurt, rice, toast, avocado, for example. Lately my friend has been bringing home avocado and cheese veggie (not vegan) sandwhiches from his work. They have lots of lettuce, tomato in them too...guess who LOVES them? My dog! My dog was also found to eat this homemade hair conditioner I made....crushed bananas and avocados with oil...she loved it! ew. She also sometimes eat pieces of my salad...lettuce as long as it has dressing on it. I enjoyed hearing about India...I am really curious about the culture there these days. My parents come from a state called Gujarat in India. Almost whole state is vegetarian, so no butcher shops there. All the pets we had or our neighbors had ate what we ate. Currently, one of my sisters lives in a big city in Gujarat, she has two dogs, who eat all vegetarian food and are growing beautifully. I took a video of them eating papya, pickles, rice and daal, and even papadum. This is how it is throughout the whole state. Most of the muslims living in this state eat meat so their pets get to eat meat as well. But that is a rarity. I hope you falks find this interesting.Peace.Atul

Guest guest
One time I was eating mandarin oranges out the can while I was studying. I had almost, but not quite, eaten all the oranges when I put the can on the coffee table and went to go do something else. When I came back into the living room one of my cats was pulling an orange wedge out the can with a claw. He then proceeded to eat it. This is the same cat who eats cous cous and lentil soup. So I guess my cat would be a happy vegetarian! Love, Anna >lv2breathe > > >CC: Lv2breathe > Re: Veggie dogs >Sat, 15 May 2004 11:08:58 EDT > >Atul > >I enjoyed this very much. Guest guest
i'm not a huge fan of the veggie dog myself, but what i've found is that the way they taste best is by boiling them first, then pan-frying them for a few minutes. it makes the texture a little nicer. i tend to go for the yves jumbo ones; they taste better than most brands. melody http://www.flawlessfitness.com http://www.melodysmusic.net
Guest guest
I've actually found that the Morningstar variety is pretty good. Wasn't a big fan of the Smart Dogs. Morningstar makes a good variety of stuff from veggie dogs to " sausage " links and patties. I buy their stuff almost exclusively right now.
