the stuff:

now and zen un-chicken

brocolli

a whole mess of garlic (about 8 cloves)

from the garden:

onion

tiny little red pepper(i fergot wot it is..i planted it last yr, still alive..)

spinach

malabar spinach

egyptian spinach

vietnamese corriander

3 types of basil

parsley

garlic chives

cooking sauce:

cup of water(veggie broth would have been better..but..don't have any)

large dash of red chili sauce

2 teaspoons(about) rice vinegar

shot of soy sauce

shot of braggs liquid aminos

teaspoon organic sugar

spices like salt, pepper, etc (i really didn't pay much attention)

oiled pan with olive oil and peanut oil

added garlic and onion..

proceeded to chop up brocolli..added that

covered pan

chopped up remaining veggies/herbs

tossed em in

sauteed un-chicken in second pan...

served over a bed of rice...

thoughts

it was pretty good..especially fer something i made up as i went along

could have definately benefited from veggie broth...

maybe corn starch would have been good in it as well

if you don't like hot, back off on the chilli sauce..i tossed in a big squirt..prolly 3 tablespoons..my nose is still watering....

added a lil seasame seed on top, and it was nummy

sounds good - and ambitious! I've been in the kitchen all morning

with two dogs underfoot (we're having irrigation put in the garden

today so they are in the house with me). I tried to make

the " tzimmes " (sp?) they have in prepared foods at Whole Foods. I

roasted some sweet potato and carrots tossed in olive oil. Then on

the stovetop simmered some orange juice with prunes, dried apricots,

golden raisins and currants. Reduced the orange juice and mixed

with some olive oil, salt and pepper. Turned out pretty good.

We're having friends over tomorrow and we're having a bunch of

different salads/side dishes. I also made a tabbouleh with quinoa

instead of bulgar and will make a tomato and " mozzarella " salad with

basil. I made this faux mozzarella that turned out pretty darn

good - when I marinate the 'cheese' with oil and vinegar it makes a

great salad. Oh, and also the brownie recipe from the " how it all

vegan " cookbook. I'm done for the day!

theres a few stores in the bay area where you can purchase fake meat. I beleive theres one in oakland (correct me if im wrong fraggle) and theres one in san jose. I havent gotten any yet becuase my kitchen is so small its hard to do elaborate cooking but i hear its damn good but ive been told if you go there be prepared to lay down some cash becuase you`ll want to buy everything. apparently it saves quite well though.

dependin on wot you want...

there's layonna in downtown oakland at the edge of Chinatown which sells a variety of mock meats..

then there are all those places within Chinatown..tho, how old some of that canned stuff is i'm afraid to even think about

you can get unchicken, unribs, unturkey, tofurky, etc and so forth at Berkeley Bowl and Whole Foods, both in Berkeley..tho they are buildin another Whole Foods down by Lake Merritt

i'm sure other natural grocers around here carry a similar selection...

rainbow out in SF i know carries a bunch of stuff....

Hi Peter,

I beleive that there is a huge industry in far east that make all animal products such as chicken, fish and anything you can think of from soya beans. It is flavoured like chicken or fish etc. I went to a restaurant in Indonesia with my client, as they thought that my being a veggie I would like it. But I told them that all the animalsmells will be hard for mr even though it is all made out of tofu. I ate normal tofu dishes. But they were enjoying everything they can get on the menu. It was fascinating to me that the owner was strictly vegetarian was insulted when I inquired if they cook meat at all. They said we never cook meat in this restaurant. A novel idea for me.

I also wanted to thank you and a lady who emailed me about liver/GB flush. I did it. it was great. I had so many green stones that came out of me. I am going to try again.

Thank you. Everyone should visit curezone.com, a great website.

ThanX.

Now I want to come over to your place. Sounds good. I am a terrible

cook. I never know what things go together and what will taste awful

together.

Thanks Jen,

I know your heart is in the right place, but I am on the right side of the Atlantic, i.e. sunny Wales. (I wouldnt want to buy anything described as fake meat anyway!)
