(why can i never resist in yelling "SEITAN SEITAN SEITAN!!" everytime i see that word??) the stuff i used was from now and zen, called un-chicken.. alas, the company got bought out last year, and while i still like their stuff, their unchicken doesn't taste far off from their un turkey as fer the garden..i luv to garden...although i have the worlds smallest backyard..really..a 3 legged turtle could cross my backyard faster then you can say "george bush is a ninny" but..i try... its all organic... it was a disaster the first year er so...previous tenants were obviously the "better living thru chemistry" type of folks...there wasn't a bee the entire first season but... been buildin up the soil right now..fer veggies got zucchini cucumber pumpkin(volunteer from last year) lotsa maters..about 8 different types, maybe a dozen plants... corn peas a whole range of beans(green, pinto, crimson, etc) moon and stars melon montreal melon some cantaloupe(one of which was just some seeds i scooped out of the melon i was eatin at the time and buried, and voila', i got like 6 plants out of it!) onions garlic spinach malabar spinach egyptian spinach beets(ok, 2..hahahah) peppers(ummm..cayenne, red bell, yellow beel, yolo, and like 2 er 3 others) kale and prolly a bunch of other things i'm fergettin.... fer herbs basil(genovese, green globe, thai, purple) lemon verbana lemon balm spearmint corsican mint(i LUV the way this smells) vietnamese coriander garlic chives oregano(2 varieties, dunno wot they are called) lavender chamomille umm..and prolly some others and..borage, lovage, nasturtiums, sunflowers, marigolds, scarlet runner beans, sweat peasa, etc and so forth its a jungle out thar!!! hahahahahahahha fraggle What the F**k is mock chicken? is it some poor fowl that has been insulted? Guest guest Posted June 8, 2004 Report Share Posted June 8, 2004 nah..no reason to be jealous.... even if you don't have a yard, you can always do a window box, er container garden there's always an option!!!! man..there are all these snap peas just waitin to be harvested.. but..they are on the other side of that *dreaded evil fraggle tripping fence* i can just look at em from several feet away..and pine i need longer arms apparantly.... You certainly have got green paws by the sound of it! Dead jealous now! Ah well only 20 ish years to retirement, maybe I`ll get an allotment! Sadly, all my sunny window and patio spaces are full of cacti, euphorbias, and various other succulents. I tried to do some peppers last year and they never produced b/c they kept wilting back every time I left for more then a couple days.
