Guest guest
everything is open fer discussion on this group..you can talk about the time you sat on santa's knee when you were 7 and he belched up on yer coat if you like as long as folks remain civil to each other, the skies the limit... and magic the gathering was a scary phenomenon Oh my giddy aunt, doesn`t sound like magic to me? Pass my anorak, time to go trainspotting! Only kidding! Each to his own, as long as its relevant to vegans, lets keep hearing it. Maybe this was on the wrong chat group? The Valley Vegan.... Guest guest
fer kids? well..thats debatable...everyone played the dumb thing here about 8 yrs ago...kids, teens, 40 yrs olds... pokemon, now that was more of a kids game..but it peeked here about 4 yrs ago... ya don't see it anymore its all about yu gi oh here er however you spell it It's a card game for children, in which you array magical creatures and forces against each other. It's collectible, which in practice means that people end up spending silly amounts of money to get particular cards. I don't like CCGs (Collectible Card Games) for that reason. Linking it to veganism, I'm just back from the Vegan Gathering in Wales, where some of the children were very keen on Pokemon, another CCG. Guest guest
the stuff was sellin fer a pretty penny at one time i only played once, couldn't get into it... i sold one box for $2000 (legends), another fer $500 (the dark)..and eventually just gave all the rest away... fraggle You're right, Magic's not really just for children. Back in '94, when I was a penniless student, my American GF paid for my plane ticket to visit her by selling some of her Magic cards. I've only played one or two games, and it is fun. The big national competitions do seem to be mainly fully of young teens, though.
