Depends on the brand... quite a lot of them are vegan, but some of them use

buttermilk... best to check the ingredients.

Hi all,

I understand that dark chocolate does not have the butter fat or milk in it like milk chocolate. I have read ingredients for several types of chocolates. You would be safe in choosing a dark over milk chocolate. But if possible read the ingredients list first, just in case. I have found a couple of dark chocolates that still have butter fat in them, why i couldnt tell you, probably for texture in the chocolate.

I enjoy a dark belgian chocolate from my local chocoholic corner specialty shop. called the chocolate giraffe. This is only on occasion, as if i frequented the store more often i would surely not be able to get thru my front door. lol

May peace come to all

Some is in the UK Montezuma does a rich dark vegan chocolate, and Lindt

Excellence 70% is vegan. Some of the supermarkets also do their own brand,

and Thorntons do a vegan chocolate too. You can also order from Dr Hadwen

Trust, or Animal Aid, VIVA etc.

Careful with the Lindt chocolate, produced in the same factory as the milk version, and - correct me if I am wrong- they now warn against this on the wrapper?

Green & Black is the one for me, guranteed fair trade - no slave labour from the Ivory coast cocoa bean plantations.

And the organic Mayan Gold is orgasmic........well I do live a sheltered life!

check out >>>>>> http://www.greenandblacks.com/html/home.php

and no I dont work for them! , but I wish I did, preferably on the production line, mmmmmmmmmm taster would be nice.

Well stick a fork in me.............
