If you dilute the word 'vegan' then vegans will not be able to get vegan food when out, but food containing dairy or eggs that the restauranteur is under the mistaken belief that it is vegan. There is no leeway in this matter - so I ask please that people who are not vegan do not call themselves vegan. Jo I actually totally agree with this. I would never "dilute" what it is to be vegan...really! I would never tell a restaurant "Oh, it's OK to put dairy in my vegan meal". I know the difference. I guess that's why I like the term "veganish"...which is probably what I am. I never eat meat....never eat eggs...and dairy just sometimes...but even then it's a small amount. So I am mostly vegan..."veganish". Is that not fair? K I think "veganish" or 98% vegan is fair and explanatory. I have decided as of now that that is how I shall describe myself to others...whether you like it or not. The reason being is because I think like a vegan. I do not eat this way out of health because out of deep concern for the animals...and I have a history of helping this cause to prove it! Probably longer, or much longer than you have even been vegan. I am also very anti-vivisectionist, and anti using animals for the circus. Plus, how I am describing myself tells others that I am not a perfect vegan, like yourself...so you don't have to worry about me being included in your group. It explains things perfectly. I am very close to being a "perfect" vegan. So I am veganish. K

Guest guest
Hi Judy, I will try to find out from the restaurant, though there is a language barrier and I think only Chef Ito would know (and he doesn't speak!). I'll let you know if I find out... Thanks! Christy Message: 15 Mon, 13 Jun 2005 13:10:36 EDT vegwriter Aquatic Seagrass Hi Christy, It does sound wonderful. I'd like to get some too. Maybe call the restaurant and ask them where they get theirs? Judy Judy Pokras editor/founder www.RawFoodsNewsMagazine.com
