Once they all realize that meat is not good for them and start cutting down on it what else are they going to eat eventually ? I never knew that the percentage was so high. Someone just sent me this article. Isn't this just so wonderful ? Vijay

Guest guest
, fraggle <EBbrewpunx@e...> Look at someone as 40% vegetarian, 60% vegetarian etc., and you will see a progress. Eventually, several may giveup meat. It just doesn't happen in a day. Specially since several of these people have been meat eaters for generations. Guest guest
oh..i agree its better but only up to a point... too many folks take the *easy* way out, "look, i'm vegetarian because i only eat a hamburger smothered in cheese on weekends!! aren't i great!!" too many folks use it as a cop-out if its a stepping stone, then all well and good...but there are too many who just want another crutch er want to rationalize sorry..i'm a purist in certain things at times... cheers fraggle rvijay07 Aug 31, 2004 1:09 PM Re: Article: Flexitarian. , fraggle <EBbrewpunx@e...>Look at someone as 40% vegetarian, 60% vegetarian etc., and you will see a progress. Guest guest
I completely see your point Vijay. It's a step in the right direction......some people aren't as easily impacted by animal cruelty as others and change is VERY difficult....so now there are steps. 1. Flexitarian 2. Vegetarian 3. VeganWhuala......THE GOALLLLLLLLrvijay07 wrote: , fraggle <EBbrewpunx@e...>Look at someone as 40% vegetarian, 60% vegetarian etc., and you will see a progress. Eventually, several may giveup meat. As long as the goal is achieved it is fine. besides down the road some of these people may also become conscious/sensitive to animal cruelty. Guest guest
Once again almighty Fraggle has spoken the truth. I`m with you and all the other purists. Life may not be entirely black and white but certain issues are, like being a vegan, or not being a vegan. The definition is there for a reason! Stepping stones are fine as long as you intend on making the journey. The Valley Vegan.....fraggle <EBbrewpunx wrote: oh..i agree its better but only up to a point... too many folks take the *easy* way out, "look, i'm vegetarian because i only eat a hamburger smothered in cheese on weekends!! aren't i great!!" too many folks use it as a cop-out if its a stepping stone, then all well and good...but there are too many who just want another crutch er want to rationalize sorry..i'm a purist in certain things at times... cheers fraggle rvijay07 Aug 31, 2004 1:09 PM Re: Article: Flexitarian. , fraggle <EBbrewpunx@e...>Look at someone as 40% vegetarian, 60% vegetarian etc., and you will see a progress. True and agreed. There will always those who will use the stepping stones as an excuse and those who will relapse, violate definitions etc., Hopefully, these will be exceptions and not the norm.
