Guest guest
Well, I'm back. Again. After being in that bed and on all those frozen, rock hard tables, I need a bottom transplant. My heart converted back to normal without getting zapped, for which I am profoundly grateful. Also the heart problem is not as bad as they though, not any way near what they thought. (Picture me doing the happy dance.) That is a huge relief to all of us here. They believe that there is a problem with my little 20 cc stomach pouch pressing on the diaphragm, also the hiatal hernia that was repaired in 2002 is back with a vengeance making it hard to swallow or breathe. But that is more fixable than the other, so I'll take that diagnosis. My PCP is looking for a gastro doc who can handle the rather strange gut surgery I had done in 02. I actually got vegetarian meals while in there. How's that for a shock? It was usually a variation on mashed potatoes, corn, carrots and green beans with some fruit. They brought Jello one day and I said I couldn't eat that because it was not vegetarian. The " nutritionist " and I had a jolly little discussion as to what gelatin is and she finally looked it up on the Internet so she could do the " nanny nanny boo boo you are wrong " thing to me. HA. Needless to say, I didn't get gelatin. The nursing staff was great. Respiratory therapy did several blood gasses a day so I rather got to the point of wanting to run and hide from them. Ye gods and little fishies those hurt. My arms are black and blue up and down. My room mate in the hospital was a darling elderly lady who was tired of the itty bitty meals she was getting, compared to the huge plates of veggies they brought me. She had them start giving her veggie meals and was very happy, though she thought the cabbage could have been better with some side meat or ham. Ms. D was a sweetheart, I hope she does better. The best thing about being back home other than getting to talk with you guys again is that I can go SHOWER!!!! Hot darn, no more sponge baths. Missed you guys, so glad to be home and online, Love you, Jeanne in GA Everyone is raving about the all-new Mail beta.
Guest guest
Hi Jeanne, Thanks for having Carl, give us updates on you. I'm so happy you are home again and able to sleep in your own bed anytime, eat your recipes, and shower, with no fear of those dreaded blood gas folks popping in for a poke!!! That is neat that your roommate was able to get much healthier meals because of seeing your more appealing meals. It is great when you have a good roommate. What wonderful news about your heart. Yeah!!!!!! Hugs, Judy - treazure noname Friday, December 08, 2006 1:25 PM OT: home again Well, I'm back. Again.
