Guest guest
yes, yes, yes! I think it could be because alot of the common carbs are less filling than meats. How often would you eat 2 hamburgers? But I certainly can eat a whole giant bagel, which probably has as many calories! or eat a plate of pasta, which if you measured it out would technically be like 5 servings worth! I was at my thinnest when I ate fish and veggies. I am just yucked out by fish anymore though. I plan to cut down on my sugar and simple carbs after Christmas and watch portion sizes better, hope this will help with the weight! Good luck to you. melissa , " mrswalp29 " <mrswalp29 wrote: > > I know that a lot of people believe if you are a vegetarian you are > bone thin I have found since I stopped eating meat that I have gained > weight. Guest guest
yes you are right portions portions. It is so hard when most of our meals are made of carbs we eat a ton of fruits and veggies but they dont fill you up as much as you would like so you reach for another veggie burger or what have you. Guest guest
Whole Grains, whether in cereals(cooked and dry), breads, tortillas, muffins, rice, etc . and most any bean or nuts are very filling. We love using the Meat substitutes by Loma Linda, Worthington, Cedar Lake, Natural Touch and Morningstar Farms.... They really add a feeling of fullness as well and seem to round out the meal for us. High fiber foods also giving you a more full filling. \ Smoothies made from frozen fruits are wonderful at Breakfast. Granola with some fruit flavored yogurts stirred into it really tastes good. I also love to eat cooked Cream of Wheat or Oatmeal, with Trail Mix(dried fruits and nuts) stirred into it. Sometimes I also add some maple syrup or crunchy peanut butter. I love to use Canned Kidney and Garbanzo beans, along with a either feta/cheddar/parmasean, some baco, sunflower seeds, toasted slivered almonds, on tossed salads, It makes a much more filling meal. Try my Meato's recipe in the files. It is really delicious as a loaf, served hot or sliced into slices and put on Whole Wheat bread, that is spread with Mayo/Veganaise. Yummmmmm.
