Guest guest
We just received this message. It looks like my son's school , Miri Piri Academy, will be on Dateline NBC on Wednesday, Dec. 27. I think it comes on at 8PM in most time zones in N. America. They serve only vegetarian food. " Dateline Punjab " is telecasting a 3-4 minute episode on Miri Piri Academy on: Tuesday, 26th December 2006 on Sony TV (England) at 8:00 pm Wednesday, 27th December 2006 on Channel 47 ( Washington DC) and Channel 49 (California) at 8:00 pm Thursday, 28th December 2006 on DD Jallandhar and DD Punjabi at 3:30 pm. The episode was filmed at Miri Piri Academy by correspondents of ANI-Reuters last month. Enjoy! GB
Guest guest
Oh how neat. I work in a school cafeteria and was extremely disappointed recently when they changed policies. Kids have to take 3 of 5 items offered. That used to mean milk, a sandwich, and Apple/fruit/side salad/or soup. That has now changed and milk and a sandwich will suffice as the sandwich (bread and whatever) counts as two items. We will now have lots of kids getting no fruits or veggies of any kind. Guest guest
Debbie It seems to me that some schools are getting much better about good meals and most are getting much worse. When I went to school, we had hot meals that were made in the cafeteria. Now they basically heat something up and give it to the kids. GB , Reed Deborah <debjreed wrote: > > Oh how neat. Guest guest
I know. A lot is preprocessed chicken patties, hamburger patties, chicken nuggets, instant mashed potatoes... They do that because it is similar to what the kids get at fast food joints and they can serve more lunches by appealling to them that way. I think a lot of people eat at home like that too. Guest guest
ya know, if they had to pick fruit and didn't want fruit, they would throw it out anyway. ( ...Yes I know and have seen this happen. But there are some who wouldn't have taken it otherwise but since they had to they will eat it. If they don't take it they definitely don't have a chance of eating it. Debbie
