Guest guest
I was wondering is a rice cooker and crock pot the same thing? If not what is the difference.
Guest guest
Nothing alike. The rice cooker steams the white rice in about 2-25 mins. The crockpot is a slow cooker, it cooks for hours on a lower degree. I use both those appliances all the time. Guest guest
My rice cooker is a steamer. The rice and water is in a small pot. The steam heats the water and rice thereby cooking the rice. A timer shuts it off, so no watching! It can also be used to steam vegetables; very handy. Guest guest
I had to replace mine & ended up with a 2 level steamer so I can do rice and _____. It is oval so a fish fits well & cute little indents for steaming eggs (which I have yet to try). Unfortunately, the book with it isn't as good as my old one & the proportions have been difficult to multiply. I like to make as much rice as possible so I have plenty of leftovers & it only gives proportions for 1c rice even though it will hold much more. How odd. Yes, get a rice cooker - I loved my old one tremendously & used it daily. My new one is ok but not seeing as much use. my old one http://www.bdappliancestore.com/product_detail.asp?T1=APP+HS900 & SKW=rice my new one http://www.jcpenney.com/jcp/Products.aspx?DeptID=0 & CatID=026980 & Grptyp=PRD & ItemI\ d=0b13d66 & siteID=210054843 Beth Lori Owens <lovemyheavenly3 wrote: Rice and veggies two of my favorites, I have to get one of those rice cookers!
