I know that their mayo is great. I had mayo on a sandwitch for the first

time in decades yesterday it is that good. I bought it to make the

no-chicken chicken salad my local health food store had made and had the

recipe there. Came out great (the second time I made it... I messed up on

quanities the 1st time)

I just ordered a the mozzerella from them .... so I hope your right and it

tastes great. ... commited myself to a 1/2 case to insure they would not

loose money ... It will replace one of my cheats ... Rice Brand which is

as close as I have found that does not have carnaggenan but it does have

casseen ...

Short fall with Follow Your Heart ... it has Carrageenan ... I

cancelled the order I had placed a moment earlier for the mozerella.

Me personally... I would rather cheat with the casseen than chance the

Carrageenan

Does anyone have a brand without either and that does have taste

Planning on going totally vegan within the next month or so (have cheese and

Graeter's ice

cream left from the holidays that we are NOT throwing away) I keep hearing

that the Follow

Your Heart is the best kind of casein free, vegan cheese substitute around.

Has anyone ordered it from the website? is it really worth it? I don't

believe anywhere

around Nashville carries it. anyone out there purchased it or another good

faux cheese at

Wild Oats , Publix, etc?

thanks, melissa

That's not you or ... that was me

I have a business program that requires key-codes to load. Even though I

have more recient versions of the software, I prefer using an older version.

At this point the company no longer supports the old version and also they

said that since I have the newer version they will not give me the codes for

the older. As a result, I set my PC back to the month I installed it. I

work in that version, then use the newer version to print out shop drawings

as the newer printers do not have drivers for that old a CADD program.

Plots get emailed directly to the blueprinter's

Sorry. I generally remember to reset the date, but forget to at times.

There are different kinds of Carrageenan. The ones in foods don't have the one

with harmful effects according to the study below.

Judy

Carrageenan

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

There is evidence from studies performed on rats, guinea pigs and monkeys which

indicates that degraded carrageenan (poligeenan) may cause ulcerations in the

gastro-intestinal tract and gastro-intestinal cancer

Poligeenan is produced from carrageenan subjected to high temperatures and

acidity. The average carrageenan molecule weighs over 100,000 Da while

poligeenans have a molecular weight of less than 50,000 Da. A scientific

committee working on behalf of the European Commission has recommended that the

amount of degraded carrageenan be limited to a maximum of 5% (which is the limit

of detection) of total carrageenan mass. Upon testing samples of foods

containing high molecular weight carrageens, researchers found no poligeenan.

I'm not going to worry about carrageenan ro much, just going

vegetarian, learning to cook and not smoking is a milestone.

I love kombu and sea vegies. They are very healthy for you.

I do not use salt when I cook . If I am making something that really needs

a touch of salt when I have a friend over for dinner, I will generally use

Bragg's Aminos in her meal to make it saltier.

As far as the carageenan thing goes, I don't know whether it is good or bad.

However, when the discussion came up, I looked at my brand (store brand-

cheaper) and it was in there. I looked around at the store and discovered 8th

continent doesn't have it. Nicely they also have a lighter version and it only

cost 30 cents more than the store brand. My sister had told me in the past that

it was good. I tried it and liked it. It seems smoother and easier on my tummy

(gastric reflux problem). I figure 30 cents more is worth it for a light

version and if no carageenan is of relavance, it is an added bonus. I have

tried several types of soy cheese and have yet to find one I care for. I tended

when I ate meat, to avoid cheeses anyway because of cholesterol problems, so I

figure as long as it is a minor component of my diet real cheese isn't a big

deal.

There is a Rice brand that is casein free.

As far as what your Wild Oats and Whole Foods carries, write them and

ask for specific brands and more vegan cheeses. I wrote Wild Oats and

they now have a HUGE selection of vegan cheese! They do listen to

their customers. :)
