Guest guest
Welcome, Liam; I love that name. Slight phobia of meat you say? Sounds interesting. I guess I am kind of the same. Never really did like the stuff, and looking at the raw stuff creeps me out. I kind of scoot fast past the meat isle when I am grocery shopping. *lol* Good to have you with us. I look forward to reading your posts. ~ f ~ We are so fond of being out among nature, because it has no opinions about us. ~ Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche, philosopher (1844-1900) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~> , " LIAM <squillel> " < squillel> wrote: > Hello peeps just joined, been vegie since I was 4. Guest guest
Hi, not only am I new to the group, but I am also new to the Vegetarian diet. I just decided this year as a resolution to become a vegetarian. I got tired, of thinking about eating poor defenseless animals. I had been thinking about it for sometime, being an animal lover myself. I was hoping to join a group, for suport, and some help with some recipes, and so forth. Thank you for allowing me to join the group. God bless you Edith
Guest guest
Edith: I think you will find you are embarking on a very enjoyable journey deep into 'foodsville'. Just remember to make your promise only to try. You have come to a great " Port " to begin this journey as this ship is jam (like that pun) packed with not only excellent refrence information and great recipes but even more importantly wonderful support when you need it. One thing you will find I am sure. Remember all those times you still felt uncomfortable a hour or more after a big meal ? No where near as likely to have that experience now. Another result ... you will feel healthier. The mind controls the body to a great extent so when it feels better one tends to be better. One thought. Supplements. Ask here or in your local health food store for recomendations on vitamins and minerials geared for the vegetarian diet. One I know to be important, especially for the vegan ... B12. There are others. I take a long list things from the Aminos, to a complete B complex, biotin (also 4 hair and nails), Ca/Mg mix, phytoestrogens w/EFA's, 500 C + 500 citrus bioflanoides, acidophilis mix (spelling), flax oil, milk thistle, soy isoflanins, oat bran, pomagrant extract, grapefruit extract and the list goes on. We each develop ourown supplemental list, be it long, short or non-existant, based on our needs and beliefs. The very best of luck to you in this venture.
