Guest guest
Does anyone ever feel like they are in a food rut with the same old stuff? I mean we have ALL these wonderful recipes here but I feel like I'm still making the same ones over and over again or have tried the ones I want to try and I just feel like I can't think of anything I want to make for dinner! I am trying to make my meal plan for the week but I just feel stuck. I feel really silly too with that because we have tons of recipes! Just nothing sounds good! And another thing, I'm actually craving meat but I don't want it. Like I keep getting cravings but I don't want to eat it mentally. Does anyone know why that would be? Is it a sign I'm deficient in something? I never craved it before when I was eating it. ) Rachel ~ http://www.thelucastribe.com ~ KUSTOMIZED KIDS ~ http://www.cafepress.com/kustomizedkids Baby & Kids, Pregnancy, Natural Parenting, Wedding, & Personalized Clothing Designs
Guest guest
Re: getting into a food rut? Yes, often. There are dishes we both like so much I'll fix them a couple times a month. Re: cravings I am of the opinion that when my body (if no one else's in the entire cosmos) craves something badly, it needs the nutrients in that. Right now since I am severely anemic (hematocrit is a bit under half normal), and my electrolytes are totally hosed I am craving green leafy veggies, beans, orange juice and bananas. I'm also craving fried chicken livers or liver, which I haven't had in over 20 years. Thankfully I know the dynamics of the diseases my body has produced and know that if I did have the craved liver I'd be back in Chez Needlez faster than I can type, see ya. I really do believe our bodies know when we are out of balance and I bet yours is telling you it wants more protein rich foods. So pass the beano and get some yummy protein rich beans and brown rice into your body. If this continues, I'd recommend going in for blood work. Listen to your body. Love to all, Jeanne in GA who is not a doctor and does not play one on television so YMMV (your milage may vary)
Guest guest
I often get into a rut with my cooking. I put it down to living on my own. That is why I resolved to cook at least one new recipe per week this year. Even if my resolution doesn't last past the end of January, it will still have reawakened my taste buds and got a few brain cells thinking of food in a more innovative way again. I'm afraid I can't help you with the meat craving - never liked it and haven't eaten any for about 40 years. Christie
