I'm currently using a that folding insert in a small soup pot to steam

my vegetables and or rice and would like to find one that makes it

easier to take the steamed goods out of the pot, without burning

myself. Any ideas or recommendations?

Look in Amazon.com for a stainless steel steamer pan. I have the

Faberware one and it doubles as a Dutch oven.

There is a 3 tiered basket steamer. I am not sure what happened to the one

that used to be around here so I just use a fork to lift the basket out of

the pot. Two forks allows you to lift with one and tilt to pour the veggies

into a bowl. I have never tried steaming rice in it. How does that work?

Let me try that again. We had a 3-tiered bamboo basket for steaming veggies

which did a great job. It has disappeared. Now I am using the metal folding

thing. I use a fork to lift it and a second fork to tilt and pour. Guess I

need to be looking for a new one too as this one is missing one of the

folding flaps.

I have this one and so does my sis and niece and we

all 3 love it. It's also a soup pot or you can cook

spaghetti in it.

It's a very heavy duty pan also. I think I use it

every single day and twice a day on weekends.

I use this one (link below). It has a small bowl insert for cooking rice

(tucked behind the steamer in the pic at link below). It also has a thin

insert for under the steamer basket, if you want to add herbs to the screen

where the steam comes through-- adds flavor without having to remove any

debris afterwards (like a 'bouquet garnis', but without needing a bag).

Both my roomie and I have one (so, we have two here), which makes it nice

when we want both veggies and rice at the same time. :)

This link will take you to the steamer I use, on the amazon site.

This is the one I have. Use it a couple of times a week. Works great, especially

for rice.

House mate insistes on brown rice. This gadget makes it less disgusting than

usual.
