Guest guest
Mine loved it too, Tracy. It's a good way to hide the dark orange veggies and fill them with nutrients! Guest guest
LaDonna, Speaking of hiding things........ I put cooked sweet potatoes into chocolate smoothies that I make. My kids love them. They are always saying those are the best. Of course I would never tell them.......well at least not until they leave home. He he Tracy << Mine loved it too, Tracy. Guest guest
My nine year old granddaughter would most likely be insulted if I 'hid' her veggies. Strangely enough, she loves carrots and sweet potatoes as well as things like cabbage, broccoli and spinach salad (not cooked though!) I think it has to do starting her out with veggies, lightly cooked and put through the blender. We froze this in ice cube trays and thawed the cubes as we needed baby servings. She had not tasted anything sweet, including fruit, until she had developed a taste for vegetables. She still will eat veggies over sweets when the choice is there. In fact, I have to insist she eat fruit after school. - faytk Sunday, January 25, 2004 1:44 PM Re: Pumpkin Foamy LaDonna, Speaking of hiding things........ Guest guest
That's really cool, Tracy. Yes, you better tell them when they leave home. . ..I'm sure they'll be making them on their own some day, even if there are sweet potatoes in the chocolate! Great idea! Guest guest
That's wonderful! I have a 6 week old baby and have thought about doing that too. I am glad to hear that it worked well to start with veggies with your granddaughter. Tracy > My nine year old granddaughter would most likely be insulted if I 'hid' her > veggies. Guest guest
We started with carrots and then added peas. I bought the organic ones - faytk Monday, January 26, 2004 10:05 AM Re: Pumpkin Foamy That's wonderful! I have a 6 week old baby and have thought about doing that too. Guest guest
I'm glad you enjoyed it. I too love pumpkin and it is such a powerhouse of nutrition. Thanks for the review. Judy - Pat & Jeff Downs Thursday, January 11, 2007 11:02 AM RE: PUMPKIN FOAMY I made this and was fabulous. I love pumpkin!! I used vanilla soy and substituted about ¼ c raisins for the maple syrup. Next time I will soak the raisins first to plump them up then liquefy them with the milk before adding the fruit just to get them blended in a little better. Guest guest
Great Idea. Thanks for sharing this. I hadn't thought of doing it that way. Hot drinks on a cold day is great isn't it.
