Guest guest
The one I listed, and the one you listed, are one and the same. The link I posted is actually sold by Amazon, and is less expensive than the one listed at Amazon but sold by Builder Depot (the link you provided). Yes, it is a wonderful gadget for the kitchen. Second only to my Fry Daddy. Guest guest
Amazon also has another steamer from Black and Decker shipped from Target. It is a divided steamer and it seems to hold twice the capacity, yet is $4 less than the 2-qt size to which you two have linked. So, my question is, Does anyone have the larger model? Does it have a missing feature or something that would make it less expensive despite the larger size? Thanks, -Erin www.zenpawn.com/vegblog > On 1/12/07, Donnalilacflower <thelilacflower wrote: > > > > > > http://www.amazon.com/Black-Decker-Flavor-Scenter- Steamer/dp/B0002YSVEQ/sr=1-2/qid=1168646996/ref=sr_1_2/104-2388804- 1049503?ie=UTF8 & s=home-garden > > > > --- " Thia .... Guest guest
I had never seen ths one, so I did a search on Amazon. I am going to assume that you mean this one: http://tinyurl.com/y8lhlg [?] I like the divider piece! The price difference would be a Target choice; as the two links that Donna and I posted to the same item at different prices shows. Also I am thinking that larger isn't always higher; it could simply be that the smaller size is more popular (and therefore demands a higher price). Thanks for sharing this! Guest guest
That's the one. It's larger and has the divider and is less expensive. Do all these things add up to a better buy or is there some feature I am missing that those of you who already have steamers would see I am failing to take into account? Guest guest
I got mine from freecycle.org The lady said hurry and pick it up, I have it sitting around and have only used it twice. I love this steamer/rice cooker. Very easy to clean up. The model number is Black and Decker HS80 if that's any help. Donna --- Erin <truepatriot wrote: > That's the one. Guest guest
You love it, but have only used it twice? There's also this Black and Decker, yet another step up: http://www.amazon.com/Black-Decker-HS2776-Double-Decker-Flavor- Scenter/dp/B0009AFW0Y (If that link fell apart, try this one: http://snipurl.com/17gqo ) Decidedly undecided, -Erin www.zenpawn.com/vegblog , Donnalilacflower <thelilacflower wrote: > > I got mine from freecycle.org The lady said hurry and > pick it up, I have it sitting around and have only > used it twice. Guest guest
Hi I have some recipes for a rice cooker, as well as a pdf recipe book. This I suppose I will have to send off-list, so if you would like it, it is about 2.5Mb, send me your email addresses and I will email it to you. Donna, how do I go about uploading this file to the files section?
Guest guest
FYI: Decided on this one because it can do rice and veggies simultaneously and it is oval to accomodate corn on the cob. -Erin www.zenpawn.com/vegblog , Beth Renzetti <elmothree2000 wrote: > > dratly. mine's similar but a diff brand name. Guest guest
Yes I think that is a great idea. I wondered if the veggies on the tops, drips any of their flavor on the bottom food item. What has been your experience with this? Guest guest
Nonexistent. LOL. (This is my first rice/veggie steamer.) From what I've read on the product though, it sounds like they have the drip issue dealt with somehow. -Erin www.zenpawn.com/vegblog , " wwjd " <jtwigg wrote: > > Yes I think that is a great idea. Guest guest
The drip tray is on the bottom, just above the water resevoir. I have no idea if it would work between the two levels or not-- but I doubt it. Depending on what food is being cooked, I would suggest having less " drippy " foods (ie: corn on the cob, or rice in the rice bowl, etc) on the top level. Yes, It has been my experince that some foods do indeed drip. But I have not used a double stack, yet. Thia Erin ....
