Guest guest
I made this for Christmas gifts this past December. I aged whole coffee beans in a mix of vodka and brandy for 3 weeks, then added the simple syrup (water and sugar; I use half as much water as sugar.). Make sure the sugar melts completely before removing from heat. Boiling wont hurt it, as I boil mine for 3 to 5 minutes to make sure the sugar is completely melted. Good stuff! Guest guest
Oh, I forgot to say-- strain the beans out before adding syrup and bottling! Guest guest
Doesn't a prolonged boiling time risk reducing its alcohol content? -Erin www.zenpawn.com/vegblog , " Thia .... Guest guest
The only ingredients that are heated are the water and sugar. Yes, heat destroys the alcohol. The 'simple syrup' must be cooled before adding to the alcohol.
