Guest guest
Hm. I would hestitate to recommend anything to a pregnant or nursing mother, but I have found nibbling crystalized ginger to be helpful in curbing nausea. You can readily find some in the Asian cooking section of most large supermarkets, and it is also sold in healthfood stores. I used to have a recipe for making my own that I got off of Martha Stewart's site. A mild peppermint tea is also a helpful cure for any ailment of the stomach. But with anything, especially with being pregnant, do consult your doctor to be sure it is okay for you and your developing baby. I don't think either of these in moderation would be harmful, but it is always best for you to err on the side of caution. I hope you feel better soon. The good news about morning sickness is that it means your baby is growing well and that your body is producing plenty of the proper hormones. ~ feral ~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~> , Kennether Macon < mrsmacon903> wrote: > > Hello, > Do you know what I can take to ease morning sickness? > Meschell > ~ P_T ~ <patchouli_troll> wrote:It is still there, but just slightly. > Lots of spices, and healing herbal teas have > helped greatly, thanks. > > ~ PT ~ > > Blot out vain pomp; check impulse; quench appetite; > keep reason under its own control. > - Marcus Aurelius, " The Meditations " > ~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~~~~~~~~~~~> > , " _- matrixenos -_ " < > matrixenos@h...> wrote: > > > LOL, how cute. Guest guest
Ewwwwwww, I remember that feeling. I seriously thought I was going to pass on to another world because of it!!! I ate anything that had ginger in it, drank tons of ginger ale, and had peppermint oil in all of my burners all over the house. In the car, I also used an oil diffuser. I kept a pocket full of peppermints too. I'm sure all of this didn't help much with my weight gain, but at that point I certainly didn't care... Good luck and just remember it won't last forever. I'll be thinking of you. Guest guest
Hi Erin, I have been trying to snack on gingery things as i know its good for the somach but i think i'll have to use both. Was really sick last night despite wearing my bands and eating things i felt ok with. Supposed to be eating out tonight. Not sure that will happen. Thanks for the advice, Laura x On 6/2/06, Erin <truepatriot wrote: > > Rather than the travel bands, which can get to > hurting after a while, have you tried ginger? > It is a well-known nauseau remedy. > > > Hope this helps, > -Erin > www.zenpawn.com/vegblog >

Ginger tea or something to settle the tum? (I also used to see ginger tabs in healthfood stores for travel sickness but haven't looked lately.) Good luck tonight - that sounds like a cruel punishment for a newly preggers lady! Best love, Pat
Guest guest
Many, many years ago, when I was pregnant with my daughter (who is now pregnant herself!) a neighbor gave me an old Chinese secret - drink lemon juice. from Maida Citizens for Pets in Condos, http://www.petsincondos.org South Florida Vegetarian Events, http://www.soflavegevents.net
Guest guest
I hesitated to say anything on this, not ever having been pregnant. I adopted my two. Anyway, lots of friends and my sister having suffered from morning sickness, I can't resist after I read the last about sipping lemon juice. Other than the sea bands, smelling a lemon would help my sister very much. She kept them in a baggy in her purse with some ice cubes if she went out. Another thing that has helped many is not having or smelling cooked food. Eating cold food only can help because it doesn't give off as much smell. I have had many friends say especially the smell of meat cooking would make them very ill...hmm...Mom's body trying to tell her something important at a time she is especially listining to it??? Guest guest
Oyster crackers in the morning and also watered down oatmeal did the trick for me.
