Guest guest
I rate Trader Joe's #1 with fast service, samples of food and very friendly help #2 is Whole Foods, they go out of their way to order for you, checkstands move fast. The grocery chains are severly lacking in all those areas. Donna Kadee M <abbey_road3012 wrote: My husband and I moved here, near St. Louis, not long ago. We came from San Angelo, TX- a vegetarian's hell. It was awful. Pretty much eating out involved speaking very slowly, in simple words, reiterating throughout the whole thing " DO NOT PUT ANY SORT OF MEAT IN MY FOOD, " and asking the waiter/waitress if he/she understood. Such a hassle. No good stores. Wal-Mart, HEB, and the dreaded Albertson's were it. So today my husband and I went to Whole Foods Market. We've been there a couple of times before, and I've noticed that the employees there don't do the typical " nice " act. You know, when you ask someone at Dillards or something where the bathroom is, and they tilt their heads to the side a little and answer in a high-pitched voice, then give you the fake smile. None of this at Whole Foods Market. !!! People don't stand in the isles like a bunch of street cones when you need by, either. They move! At Wal-Mart later on there was a girl sitting in one of the isles- 16 or so years old, so she knew better, and I had to give her the " I'm going to run you over " glare and start moving the basket before she moved. Ugh!! Well I was just very impressed with the store today and needed to have a " why can't every store be filled with these people?? " rant. I love being here where I'm not such a freak!! It's nice to have good stores here to shop at!! Kadee Sedtal Get your own web address for just $1.99/1st yr. We'll help. Small Business. Guest guest
My sister tells me you all have a Trader Joes there too. Have you tried them also? Did you not have a Tom Thumb or Simon David in that part of TX? Debbie
Guest guest
Kadee, oh wow!! I live near St Louis too! In Wentzville, about 30 or so minutes west on 70. I am so glad you found a place to shop around here, sometimes it is really hard. Well welcome to St Louis and have a good one. Guest guest
Trader Joe's is my other favorite, we've been there before and it's such fun browsing the isles and finding new things. Plus the samples... Yum. We didn't have any good stores in the parts of TX where I'm from, just your typical grocery stores with 16 year-old employees who'd rather be off doing something else. I'm just in love with these stores! It seems like every time we go in there we find something we didn't see last time. We're making a new St. Louis ritual, too. My husband gets this *wonderful* habanero jack cheese and has them slice it for us, and we buy a box of crackers and eat them with the cheese on the way home. Sooooo good! Sheyen- we just went through Wentzville today going to Kansas to pick up mice! We hadn't even gotten into town before my husband was saying how we ought to go check out that outlet mall. Far be it from me to deny hubby the shopping experience. Kadee Sedtal Get on board. You're invited to try the new Mail.
Guest guest
I wanted to share with you all an observation on my part. I have a very mild form of Tourette's Syndrome (TS) that will come out sometimes when I talk. But since last Monday, which is the last time I have eaten meat of any kind (I have eaten dairy products) I have not had any TS symptons. Also upon weighing in today I have lost 4 lbs., and one inch each on my neck, hips, and waist. Susan
Guest guest
Limiting my meat consumtion has reduced several unplesent side effects for me. I have ocd/and bpd and eating more veg and less meats help too. Also eating smaller more frequent helps. When im really hungry im more suseptible to verble outburts and have a harder time controlling my emotions. Also since i compleatly got rid of dairy and beef, ive been much better. The days i slack (eat a milk chocolat bar) again my outburst are worse. Best of luck with changing your diet! Guest guest
I had two unpleasant conditions, one being warts all over my hands and feet, that went away as if magic when I stopped eating red meat. I ws still sick and still had a very short life expectence. That did not change until I stopped eating meat entirely. I still eat white cheese and egg whites, but that is it.
