Guest guest
Blimpie is hard to find in my area, but they have the BEST veggie max patties! In fact they have 4 at the downtown Sacramento location - a veggie max, chik max, black bean max, and something like a mexican veggie max.! I like the regular veggie max. You know I just went to their site and tried to find the nutrititional info or even to see it on their menu and it's not there. Perhaps it is like Taco Bell where it's not on the National menu, but stores are allowed to carry a few items that aren't on the national menu. I think that is so STUPID. They should all have at least one item for vegetarians. Oh WAIT. It's not on the menu <http://www.blimpie.com/menu/eatintakeout.php> but two of 'em are on the nutrititional page <http://www.blimpie.com/na/ing_mc.php> . You have to click MEATS & CHEESES. GO FIGURE. By the way I had the Burger King veggie burger once and only once. It was a white-ish patty, with white-ish lettuce, white-ish tomato, white bread, and mayo. YUK! Guest guest
I love their patties too. We make homemade sandwiches for on the road, with Morning Star Farms " chicken " patties and Black Bean Patties. We put everything in seperate bags and assemble when we are ready to eat. I just pop the patties in the microwave and cook as the package suggest and then put into a baggie for eating later when we are ready. I really think that Blimpies were the ones that said their patties were the Morning Star Farms ones. I too find it hard to find Blimpies in my area, but Atlanta and other places have a ton of them. Guest guest
The veggie burger @ Burger King is usually quite good. I have gotten a bad one - I think it just depends on the store - but that is rare. The very best veggie sub I ever ate from Subway was in some little town in Mississippi that I was passing through (my work involves a lot of travel) on my way to Florida. The tomatoes were deep red - probably locally grown. I have never had another one that was as good. I have had to ask them to change gloves before making my veggie sandwich after they had just finished handling a greasy slice of ham, but seems that most of the preparers are conscientious about that. But you know what? They use the same knife to cut all the sandwiches in half! There is another drive through in Texas - though I think only in the southern parts - called Texas Burger. They also have a veggie burger. It is mushroom based and if not cooked thoroughly, it is mushy and gross. The trouble with eating on the run is that I am usually miles away from the store by the time I have eaten the food and so can't take it back to complain.
