Guest guest
Hello Group, Are you sure that the re-fried beans in the fast food places are Vegetarian - meat free? Most re-fried beans contain lard which is animal fat. Also you might want to check and see if they grill the veggie burger on the same grill that they grill the meat, chicken and fish..Most restaurants do. Some restaurants even deep fry the veggie burger in oil that they use for everything. I haven't been to a Chinese restaurant yet that had a soup that didn't have a meat base. I realize there is no perfect meal out there and I am sometimes accused of being 'way too fussy', but if you ask the wait staff/chef you will often find that your Vegetarian meal isn't exactly 'meat free'. Guest guest
Hi Deanna, Good point. You got me searching for information, and found this great site about fast food places with vegetarian/vegan options: http://www.vrg.org/fastfoodinfo.htm According to this, the bean burritos at Taco Bell are vegan. Guest guest
Brian, Thanks for that site it is a good one. We Vegetarian/Vegans tend to be a calm, polite , loving group and accomplish information output in a kind way. I am reminded of this daily when I read the posts from my organic gardening group. Good Heavely days they are an argumentive group. Quick to jump in and attack an idea at the drop of a hat and not nice about it either. LOL..So when I want real , no hype info, I come back to this group. Sending smiles and hugs your way Deanna in Colorado--- In , " brbrunner " <brbrunner wrote: > > Hi Deanna, > > Good point. Guest guest
Hi Deanna, I've noticed that this is a calm group. The rarefruit group can also get a little bellicose at times!!! I'm a new member and enjoy this group, although I don't have much time to cook (did just make a delicious split pea soup). Stay warm up there!!!
