Guest guest
I love this thing. The cookies come out perfect, don't stick, etc. I wondered if any other bakers in here use a " silpat " from France. The seed is in bloom, will it meet an early doom or survive in a tranquil sea? Does it face an early end, will it find a real friend, should it be called humanity? Will creation of man bring death by his hand or will life be his destiny? Guest guest
I'll look for it. I've seen them before and I know Martha Stewart loves to comment on them, when she bakes thing, like cookies and macaroons. Thanks for reminding me about them. Guest guest
It's 100% better than using parchment. Guest guest
I love parchment paper as well, but the silicone baking sheet liners are wonderful I got 2 for 15 dollars at our walmart. I also have bought some nice silicone bakeware, such as muffin pans and a bundt pan at our Gordmans for like 5 dollars each. I love it, and it cleans up so easily it's amazing. Guest guest
I have a whole collection of the silicone bakeware too. It's wonderful and the cakes bake evenly, almost no clean up either. Guest guest
Same here re silicon bakeware. I do NOT bake without it. Since it is so flexible I do put it on a baking sheet before filling/oven but big deal. Much nicer to put all that effort into a perfectly gorgeous bundt cake (or other) and have it come easily and clean from the silicon baking form than half of it stay in the blasted and expensive teflon lined ones I used to use. I bought some individual sized rose shaped ones and make them (or do when I can function) for family and use a plain round tip to decorate the petals of the rose with different colored icing. (King Arthur Flour has a gorgeous luster dust that looks incredible on these as well.) http://www.kingarthurflour.com/shop/list.jsp?term=dust Of course if I am feeling lazy, I just pour thinned icing over it and call it food. Guest guest
I actually find them a little difficult to clean. Maybe it's just a discoloration that remains on the flat baking sheets, but the muffin cups, etc. with small spaces... -Erin www.zenpawn.com/vegblog , Donnalilacflower <thelilacflower wrote: > > I have a whole collection of the silicone bakeware > too. Guest guest
I like the silicone for some things, but I hate my silicone bread pans. As the bread rises it pushes out the sides so the loves come out fat and not as tall as they are supposed to be. Yesterday I made bread and put it in a warm over to raise. When it was ready to bake I took it out so I could get the over to temp and the movement and lifting it by the edges make the bread fall. GGRRRRRRR!
