You can also adjust the portions. Portions given feed two adults: six cups boiling water 2-3 cups brown rice splash of canola oil veggies of choice - we usually use broccoli, cauliflower, mushrooms, green onions. Cabbabe, green beans, or squash work well too. seasonings to taste. We usuall use garlic (we put garlic in everything), pepper, soy sauce/tamari, and vinegar. 1 egg - if serving lacto-ovo version smaller splash of sesame oil Cook rice as normal. Add splash of oil get it hot Add veggies, garlic, pepper stir them all together until nearly cooked make a hole in the center of the mixture - add tamari and vinegar. Mix that into the rice and veggies. Cook for a few more minutes until seasonings are blended Add egg and stir thoroughly When finished, add smaller splash of sesame oil before serving, for that dash of restaurant flavor peace and blessings, ben
Guest guest
Here is my Vegetarian Fried Rice Recipe. It is in the Grains Recipe file in the Rice Folder of rice recipes. We love this. It is just awesome. Vegetable Fried Rice 3 c. Basmati Rice - Cooked 1 can Worthington Vegetarian Burger 2 Tbsp. Oil 2 Eggs 1/4 Head of Cabbage, chopped 1/2 c. Broccoli, chopped 1 Carrot - small matchstick size - cut on a madoline 1 Green Pepper, diced 6 Mushrooms, Sliced 1/2 Onion, diced 1 Celery Stalk, diced or sliced 1/2 c. Petite Peas, Frozen 1/2 c. Corn , Frozen 2 Tbsp. Bill's Best " Beaf " Seasoning 1 tsp. Lawry's Seasoned Salt 1 Tbsp. Salt Brown the Vegetarian Burger in the hot oil in a large wok over high heat.. You'll have to mash the Vegeburger a bit with the back of a spoon, at first to break it apart. Fry until crispy, turning often. Move the Burger off to the side after it is crispy and mix your eggs together well in a bowl. Pour into the frying pan and scramble. Break it apart into small pieces. Add the cooked Rice and all the veggies except for peas and corn. Mix well with the scrambled eggs, Vegetarian Burger. Stir often and add the seasonings. When all the Veggies are tender crisp add the Frozen peas and Frozen Corn. Stir to mix well and continue stirring frequently for about 4-5 minutes. Enjoy! Guest guest
http://www.billsbest.net/#Products: You can buy it at health food stores and from any Adventist Book and Nutrition Center. They are worldwide. www.adventistbookcenter.com and then click on store locator on the side bar to find one in your area. McKays Beef Like Seasoniong is also Vegetarian and can be used in this recipe. While the online Adventist Book Center Store doesn't show food products on line, they have a wonderful health food section in the stores. You can call them and they will mail order most any thing to your address. Both are great Vegetarian " Beef " Seasoning products. Guest guest
BTW you don't have to use it in the recipes. I do most of the time, but occasionally I forgot to add the Vegetarian " Beef " like seasoning and it is still very good. Guest guest
Here is another place you can buy it and it shows the ingredients, if you are interested. http://www.uncledons.com/uncledons/scripts/prodView.asp?idProduct=62 Here is another place you can buy the McKay's " Chicken and Beef " Style Seasoning. It is all vegetarian http://cgi.ebay.com/McKays-Broth-Chicken-Beef-Seasoning-Orig-Recipe-4-Jars_W0QQi\ temZ250078096348QQcmdZViewItem http://tinyurl.com/39536m There are lots of sites that sell either of these products online. I think you'd enjoy either one. I love using them in soups, gravy, to make " chicken " stock for recipes, to season casseroles, rice dishes, etc. Enjoy, Judy - wwjd Saturday, February 03, 2007 5:51 PM Re: fried rice http://www.billsbest.net/#Products: You can buy it at health food stores and from any Adventist Book and Nutrition Center.
