Guest guest
I was curious to see what everyone is planning for Valentine's day? I thought I might do a dessert night with some of the wonderful recipes from this group.

Guest guest
It is going to be a romantic candle lit dinner, and i can say for sure the salad will come from the garden and it will feature edible flowers (our nasturtiums are really growing) of different sorts and some homegrown lettuce and spinach. Other than that it is still unplanned as we still have not figured who is cooking for whom....I better ask, right? , " mrswalp29 " <mrswalp29 wrote: > > I was curious to see what everyone is planning for Valentine's day? Guest guest
Not sure yet what we're doing. We keep tossing ideas around, but Wednesdays are busy days for us, so it's hard to say. I have Bible Study in the morning, DS' school Valentine party immediately after that, then a little shopping and " date " with the kids. We'll wrap DH's gifts and then naps all around! I'll feed the kids, we'll take them to my mom's, then DH and I will go out. But that's where the big blank comes in... don't know what we're doing when we go out! Guest guest
Aww that's so nice to hear what people are doing. we normally go all out for one another but this year we are going to Florida so my husband and I are trying to be a frugal as possible. I think it is easier to plan for us as a couple then the kids. I never know what special things to do for them besides the usual stuffed animals and chocolates although last year we did go to a movie. But here in Vermont if you don't ski this time of year is dull for me anyhow. I am quite tired of the science and play centers so I still am not sure what we will do for the kids. I hope everyone enjoys themselves and the chocolates. Steph Looking for earth-friendly autos? Browse Top Cars by " Green Rating " at Autos' Green Center. Guest guest
Salad from the garden already! Whereever you are, I wish I was there. My garden is still under 3 feet of snow and will stay that way until May. I am going to get some seeds started in the house next month so they will be ready to go out as soon as it warms up. traditional wisdom is that we don't put anything we value much outside until at least June first, but sometimes in protected places we can set plants out as early as may 20th. As I stand here and look out the window at the spot my garden will emerge from in a few months, It makes me want to cry. Guest guest
I am a trial for my poor husband, When we first got together I got flowers for valentires day, but I am allergic to a lot of flowers, so he tried boxes of chocolate. I don't like chocolate, so that did not work, either. Now he know that the only thing left as a traditional valentines day gift is jewelry. He can buy me all he wants and I don't break out and I don't get sick. Guest guest
I am in north east Los Angeles, in a little valley with its own microclimate. We are even trying bananas but still not sure if they will do anything. The frost killed the last tomato plants, but we were collecting up until last weekend, but the last batch were green (I love green tomatoes anyway). I am starting seeds for new tomatoes since I do not think we will get frost anymore. It does sound wonderful doesn't? Not sure where you are, but perhaps you do not have to deal with all the traffic, polution, crowds, crime, and high cost of real estate. I hope not at least. If you do, you might as well move down here.... , Katie M <cozycate wrote: > > Salad from the garden already! Whereever you are, I wish I was there. Guest guest
I am in Anchorage,Alaska. Anchorage is a big city and we still have to deal with crime, polution, traffic and high real estate costs, just not as bad as you have.
