Guest guest
A few months ago I became Vegan. I am missing yoghurt a lot. Like the coolness, the taste and also the fact that it is healthy. However, last time after going Vegan I had ice cream once. Felt really bad later. Mixed emotions. Please Assist. Thanks. Guest guest
Silk has some good yogurt, especially the somes you can drink. YUMMY!!! I buy them at Whole Foods. Not sure where else you can find them. As for the ice cream, there are many good varieties of vegan ice cream. Tofutti is my favorite. I love the chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwhiches. I have been a vegan for 6 months now and I had to do a lot of experimenting with different brands of food. I recommend that you try new vegan brands and not get discouraged if you don't like them all. Eventually you should find something that you like. Happy experimenting! ;-)rvijay07 wrote: A few months ago I became Vegan. I am missing yoghurt a lot. Guest guest
Have you tried Wholesoy yogurt? or Silk Yogurt? Silk's smoother, but also a good bit sweeter. I like them both.rvijay07 wrote: A few months ago I became Vegan. I am missing yoghurt a lot. Guest guest
Hi everyone, this is my first Post! I could be wrong, but if I remember correctly, I thought the rice dream ice cream's had carageegan? I also heard elsewhere that carageegan is bad for you- it is also used to de-ice air planes in the winter time if the source I read is correct.. -Peter , Susan Spain <susanspain2004> wrote: > Re: Ice cream: I LOVE Rice Dream!! Guest guest
Hi Susan+everyone, Yes, I like eating the rice snacks from whole foods also. But it seems like a lot of the rice and soy candies/milks/ice cream's all have carageegan which is unhealthy and the equivilant of milk's whey protein. Carageegan is used to de-ice commerical air planes in the winter as well I heard. -Peter , Susan Spain <susanspain2004> wrote: > Re: Ice cream: I LOVE Rice Dream!! Guest guest
Vijay, We went through a lot of soy yogurts trying to find one that would take the place of plain, fat free yogurt. It is one of the biggest comfort foods for my daughter. The very best we've found is Wildwood Soyogurt " Pleasantly Plain. " She eats close to two large containers (qt. size?) a week. Whatever I find she is missing the most I take as a personal mission to find a vegan substitute. It's sort of science in the kitchen :-) While she is the only declared vegan in the household, we are all eating mostly vegan these days and it's great. I have to balance all this with my other daughter who would love to still be a meat eater. We've been vegetarian at home for a few years - she is free to order what she likes when she is out of the house (she is 15). I can only hope that a positive exposure to healthy, conscious eating will eventually win her over. Best of luck to you nancy , rvijay07@m... wrote: > > A few months ago I became Vegan. Guest guest
>I am missing yoghurt a lot. Like the coolness, the taste and >also the fact that it is healthy. You've gotta be kidding, right? You can't get coolness elsewhere? Or taste? Sure you can! Soy yoghurts absolutely ROCK! And you know, eating those, that you're doing no harm to the animals. As for, as you say, 'the fact that it is healthy' - again, you never heard of the problems of dairy products? Try http://www.notmilk.com I think you are kiddin me ;=) I think you know this all along, right? And you're doing the right thing by staying away from all those things that you know are bad for the animals, the enivironment AND your bod. Good for you. We're all her with you and here to help. Okay???????? Best love, Pat ;=) ===== ----------- " The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated. Guest guest
Thanks for all the info. I didn't expect a relapse. Need to check out more Vegan friendly products in aisles and also need to prepare for relapses in advance. Now, I also miss honey. Best Regards, Vijay
