Guest guest
I don't think it would be unethical because the animal has died naturally - you have not caused it to die. I think that most of us would try to find vegetable food first though. Jo > If there was a severe drought or another similar unexpected natural disaster and several animals died. Guest guest
Would you really want to!?!?!?! At this point anything animal derived just turns my stomach. To me thats eating meat and not any where near vegan or vegetarian. But I would like to pose a similar question: Is eating humans (cannibalism) considered not being vegan? Just a lil inquiry. Peace. Guest guest
It's not within my standard of ethics, however, to each their own. I cannot forsee ever eating meat again unless it was that or starve to death, which is rather unlikely. Personally, I don't think it's ever ethical to eat animals, as they are not ours to do whatever with, yada, yada, yada. Plus, it's just gross. ~z - rvijay07 Tuesday, November 30, 2004 5:09 PM Another Ethical/Needs Question. Guest guest
Well, humans are animals, so I would have to say no. Sometimes I chew my fingernails, though, and I don't think those are technically vegan either. ~z - Gino Czaster Tuesday, November 30, 2004 5:21 PM Re: Another Ethical/Needs Question. Guest guest
I wouldn't call it unethical. However, I wouldn't say it was necessarily desirable. Guest guest
Hi Peter > Is it ethical to violate another beings remains? certainly not moral in my book. That's a very interesting question! I think a lot of that would come down to spiritual beliefs... for instance, I believe that the body is completely irrelevant once the person is dead, so would not consider it unethical or immoral to "violate" the remains of another being. Alternatively, if you have a spiritual belief which considers the body to be more significant than that, it is quite easy to see how it would be considered immoral. Guest guest
Maybe I should have said irreverant? is there such a word?........my brain hurts. I certainly would`nt condone body snatching/grave robbing/eating another sentient beings remains, and would`nt class it as civilised behaviour. Personal opinion of my life in my bubble, so don`t have another go at me please!, and yes , who am I to suggest what is civilised, I know...just my opinion. I agree religion/belief system would come into it, but I just was`nt raised to touch other peoples property without their permission.
