Guest guest
Most of Latin America has heardly heard about a total Vegetarian diet. They are traditional heavy meat eaters. Is this correct/true ? This is one whole Continent that is sooo strange to this concept. Vijay

Guest guest
generally, the *mexican* food popular in the US is Tex/Mex the burritos with beef and all... historically, northern latin america ate lotsa corn and beans..gourds, melons, etc more southern regions ate such things as quinoa, potaotes and other root crops with other things thrown in depending on the region fish insects heck..guinea pigs.. but.. vegetable sources were a traditional basis of meals... of course..as we blunder into the modern age, all that changes finding vegan food was sorta a challenge in parts of mexico..but vegetarian is easy... still..i didn't starve... Guest guest
I lived in Chile for a year and I would say that they actually eat less meat than most Americans. When it's served it's a small piece of stewed meat accompanied by staples like lentils, beans, or pasta. Barbecues are very special occasions.
