Guest guest
How come it is always just a few posting/discussing here ? There are several members here. It would be good if more members asked questions, shared doubts and any useful info. This will be a good learning experience for the rest. This increased participation will help the Vegan Community come more closer together I feel. Vijay

Guest guest
It's the same onmost groups for any subject. You get a core of people posting, and a few others chipping in for a while and then lurking again. The vast majority of people just lurk anyway. Guest guest
the main ingredient in egg replacer is potato starch so we bought some potato starch and use 1 tablespoon per egg also you will need to replace the moisture the an egg has in a mix so add a little extra water so that the tablespoon of potato starch and the water have approx the same mass as the egg they are replacing we also used the NO EGG from orgran too works great but plan potato starch is much cheaper all the best Craig ----- i have a question! i live in the uk and wondered if anyone knows where i can get egg replacers? cheers vicky

Guest guest
Hey Jo, Have you been to any health food stores lately? the one I get ripped off on a regular basis by, stocks two different types. One is Austarlian ( Ener G) http://www.goodnessdirect.co.uk/cgi-local/frameset/detail/591591.html http://www.veganstore.co.uk/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD & Store_Code=1 & Product_Code=677 The other, I cant remember now?old age again. What do you need it for? you can get away without using it in some recipies, you could experiment using flax seed, ground. Or soya milk/flour usually works for things like pancakes. Hope this helps, if you look on the web hard enough there are plenty of sites which give recipies for things like pancakes without eggs. All the best, The Valley Vegan....victoria leggett <tipples78 wrote: i have a question! i live in the uk and wondered if anyone knows where i can get egg replacers? cheers vickyJo bb <Heartwork wrote: It's the same onmost groups for any subject. Guest guest
Hi Peter I don't use it very often. There is one cake recipe that asks for egg replacer powder. Pancakes are fine without egg. Some cakes I make with mashed banana. I'm sure there are other items to try out as well. It's amazing how expensive health food stores are, isn't it?
