Guest guest
Hi All, this is Chrissie, just checkin' in and hoping your holidays were lovely. I got several vegan cookbooks for Christmas and one of them is super for beginners like me! If anyone is interested, it is called " How it all Vegan " by Tanya Barnard & Sarah Kramer. Has lots o' easy vegan dishes and also a glossary of not-so-vegan ingredients to be on the lookout for. Some of them quite ghastly. For example: Gelatin: " Protein obtained by boiling skin, tendons, ligaments, and/or bones with water. " I almost gagged on my gummy bears! Anyway, the book is great, tells how to make your own lip gloss and other such things. Happy New Year, Chrissie
Guest guest
I've got the Garden of Vegan by the same authors and really love it. It's great for quick and easy meals that are also quite tasty. There's also a section on dorm cooking which I thankfully don't need but might be helpful to some of you. I'm also addicted to the brownie recipe. I keep feeding them to non-veggies then telling them they're vegan. Guest guest
I got the book "Vegan Planet" by Robin Robertson and also "Easy Vegan Cooking" by Leah Lememan and both are really good. Vegan Planet has a bunch of different kinds of "cheese" cakes in it. Yum!morgaana wrote: I've got the Garden of Vegan by the same authors and really love it. Guest guest
This is a great tactic. Always feed people first, then casually mention " it's vegan! " Gets them every time. Guest guest
Oh yum, Chicago Diner. I really miss that place. Have you ever been to the vegan soul-food place in Chicago? I never had a chance to go, but heard it was really, really good.
