My Uncle's Death.

My Uncle took over the farms of my late Grandfather. However, there was drought

for several years in succession. Several farmers suffered very badly. All this

stressed my Uncle. He also had health problems (epilepsy and finally late

diagnosis of Jaundice). Finally, he succumbed to all this and died at a young

age of about 40. At that time he had a baby that was just a few months old.

Fraggle, remember your post about the drought in Andhra Pradesh in India and

farmers commiting suicide ? Well my Uncle is from close to that State and used

to live in Karnataka in a small but very pretty village. He died around 1984.

My Uncle seems to have faced hell. Every time he used to mortage some land and

try to cultivate with the remaining land with this amount, but constant drought

meant almost no crops and more debt every year. This was like 6 years or so in a

row I feel.

My late Grandmother was an angel. However, she also suffered badly emotionally

due to all the challenges her son faced.

It is amazing several years later you are giving all these articles on Global

Warming and later gave the article about suicide deaths in Andhra Pradesh,

India. Had no idea that all these were at such a higher level.

Please keep up your efforts/postings here.

sorry to hear that

the situation is much the same the world over

as we continue to drain as much out of an environment and community as we can, and as things become more precarious, expect more of it, and for it to get worse..

wait til the ogwalla aquifer gives up the ghost...

it'll make the dust bowl of the 30's look like hawaii rvijay07 Jan 12, 2005 1:10 PM My Uncle's Death. My Uncle took over the farms of my late Grandfather. I used to live in Florida several years ago. Lived in Miami, Boca Raton and

Ormond Beach. Visited Sarasota, Tampa, Daytona Beach and Fort Lauderdale. Lived

in FL when Andrew hit. Had a few friends from Haiti. They are brave people but

face big time challenges in Haiti.
