Guest guest
I think drinking milk in the short term is preferable to starving or killing the animal or eating factory farmed meat. But I think drinking milk in the long term (vegetarianism) is worse than somebody eating organic meat twice a month. I don't really know about the karma involved I'm just thinking about the suffering of the dairy cows and their calves. I'm not talking about the Hare Krishnas or the Hindus, but what does everybody else think of vegetariansm? It's more ethical to only eat organic meat/fish twice a month than be a lacto-vegetarian. I was listening to a radio programme a while ago and this naturalist person was saying that he dosen't eat any dairy products as you don't need them and its unnatural and that he eats wild organic meat twice a month. I thought his ideas were disgusting at first but then I thought its better than being a lacto- vegetarian? A friend of mine phoned in the radio programme and said vegansim was even better!, but I was just wondering what others thought. I think vegetarianism is worse than this kind of selective meat-eating, J - rvijay07 Thursday, January 13, 2005 12:33 PM Re:Advantages and disadvantages of cows milk , "heartwerk" <heartwork@c...> wrote:> > We are not talking to 'opponents' on this list - there are none here > to hear our discussion, so let's not kid ~ourselves~ that milk is a > good idea.> > JoAgreed there are no opponents here. Overall, most here know that milk is bad. For everything there are minor benefits, most of these are in the short term. So, if someone brings it up then we call all just take a look and discuss the related facts. That is all.In this regard, which of these two does this group think is worse ? If someone is poor and has no/very little food, drinking milk for the short term or starving ? There is not as much bad Karma associated with milk as with meat it appears to me. The answers may help to learn something helpful. Thanks in advance.VijayTo send an email to -
Guest guest
If I had one wish it would be to delete the word ‘vegetarian’ from the dictionary. It is completely non-sensical.
