This is interesting - I'm sure I should prepare myself for comments

too. Of course I would just present them with Exhibit A - my

daughter whose allergies have disappeared, grades and behavior have

improved dramatically and who gets compliments all the time on how

healthy she looks. I could show pictures of her from pre-vegetarian

days to current vegan days and she is a different kid. Like I'd

somehow be a better parent if I were feeding her the standard

american diet. I don't get it.

Hi Nancy

It is good that your daughter is so well. The trouble is that this

article said it was unhealthy to feed babies a vegan diet. As we on

this list know, a vegan diet is very healthy, and healthy for babies

also, but any counter-arguments against this argument must be able to

show a person who was raised from birth as a vegan.

and we know they are out there... but all I have at hand is my own

kid ;-)

Luckily, everyone thinks we look really healthy so no one gives us a

hard time.

Oh What a surprise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I`m sure that a lot of people with an ounce of nutritional sense will take it all with a pinch of salt. Unfortunately, there are a lot of impressionable meat eaters who lap this sort of dribble up to "ease" their conscience.

damn that thing moved FAST!!!

since she was originally with the UC Davis skool, which is a huge agricultural skool, with extremely close ties t obig agriculture, i suspect the funding came from some big beef producers and the california fluid milk producers Catherine Harris Feb 21, 2005 4:12 AM RE: Re: vegan children diet report? hi everyone,i just heard on the radio that an american scientist (?) has stated that bringing children up on a vegan diet deprives them?oh, so bringing them up on the western diet of dairy dairy , that is in the long term causing so much heart disease in the states, plus obesity is the way to go?i have a LARGE suspicion that her research was bought and paid for by the meat and diary lobby, whats everyone else think?profit before animals before
